WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item level upgrade items (click here to find out more) by +3. Each upgrade also boosts a random substat.

The upgraded gear typically has a more value in trade regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or very high stat variance (like Eth titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as important for those with lower requirements because of the requirement to roll a perfect version.

Recycle Points

They can also find them in random treasure lists. The cost of upgrading varies based on the slot of the item and the current level of the item. For instance weapons cost more than gloves, bracers or bracers. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Some upgrades offer a discount on the Flightstones. After an item has been upgraded to a certain degree, it can be degraded and returned to the upgrader for a lower amount of the two currencies.

Many locations offer item upgraders, including the main Island and some outposts. The NPCs offer an upgrade coupon as well as the possibility of obtaining a new recipe. It is recommended to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the best gear that you can find and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests to be used for the next set of upgrades. This is particularly true for items such as trinkets and rings that fill several slots. The account-wide discount will only apply when all slots on the character are filled with high-quality equipment.
