The
best robotic mop and vacuum
Robot Hoover
The
best robot hoover
can mop and vacuum without needing your attention. It leaves your floors spotless. Its low cost and top-of-the-line features (such as a dirt detectors) are both positives.
Make sure to check your robot's brushes regularly for tangled debris and hair. Wash them if needed. Some models also self-empty their onboard dust bin into a larger bin at the base, which reduces the amount of fine dust that is released into the air.
1. Roomba Q5 pro
The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive cousin the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums we've tested. They feature motors that are top of the line and can suction up to 5,500 Pascals. Like other top iRobot models (including the top choice) they utilize smart mapping technology to design detailed floor plans that avoid household obstacles such as cords and furniture legs. They also feature a feature called carpet boost which boosts the robot's power when it sees the presence of dirt on the carpet to get it cleaned up quickly.
Both the Q5 and Q7 Max Series get very excellent scores in our bare floor tests, and they're particularly adept at cleaning pet hair. However, they do have a few flaws that keep them from being our top pick. One of the Q5's shortcomings is its navigation system doesn't include AI-powered obstacle avoidance. It's therefore prone to getting stuck on socks and shoes and could not navigate through rooms with a lot of people well during our tests. It doesn't also come with a camera to look around corners.
It's still a great deal particularly if your office or home has a lot of bare floors and you want to save some money. It's also very quiet and works when you're at work or school. It doesn't have the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming feature that's offered by the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective in mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes that don't adhere very well and cannot handle dried-on debris. The Q5 does have a self-emptying dock, though. If you're in need of it, the mopping pad can be changed for one that is wet in just a few seconds.
2. iRobot Roomba X30
The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive vacuuming and mopping capabilities into an elegant, compact package. Its nimble navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it easy to clean and efficient at tackling larger particles like pet hair. It also features strong suction and a self-emptying bin. It's the
best robotic mop and vacuum
robot hoover for carpets, though it lags behind some competitors in deep cleaning.
This high-performance vacuum and mop utilizes sensor technology that can avoid obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the layout of your home over time to ensure better cleaning. You can change its cleaning schedule and set up zones with the well-designed app. Its battery life is average when compared to similar models.
If the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted area, you can instruct it to remove and extend its mops. This can help avoid cross contamination. The flex arm can be utilized to reach under low-lying furnishings and along baseboards. However, it's not equipped with the same level of washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Pro+ as well as the iRobot Combo j9+.
In tests during testing, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop that could complete an entire house, finishing with the battery at 66 percent left. It did a good cleaning job on different rooms and floors with various kinds of flooring, including some area rugs. Its obstacle detection was top-of-the-line and it swiftly eluded fake dog socks, turds, shoes and cables.
It's a little more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but offers superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empties into the base. It also supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can clean the floor even after it vacuums. This is a feature that we haven't seen before on other robot vacuum/mop combination.
3. Roomba X40 from iRobot
With an elegant, circular design that looks more like a regular Roomba rather than the compact models this mop and robot vacuum is one of the most appealing looking in our reviews. The latest model from iRobot is also among its most advanced. It comes with advanced features, like enhanced dirt detection and future compatibility (another company's robot that can wash mop pads on its own).
It's also the sole robot vacuum/mop that scored an absolute 10 out of 10 in our tests. This is thanks to the combination of high-tech sensors, including a structured light system, a camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot we tested that can completely autonomously refill and empty its base station and it has an industry-leading 12,000Pa suction and self-cleaning mop pads.
The X40 is, like the other iRobot products, is easy to operate. It comes with a simple mobile application interface and is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only issue is that it's still quite an eerily noisy device which could be problematic if you run it in the morning prior to work or in the evening as you try to fall asleep.
It's also a bit expensive however, not as expensive as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or the Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally capable and better looking. If you're willing to put up some more volume and some extra cost this is a powerful two-in-one that will satisfy most people.
iRobot L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the
best robot vacuum
and mop. It comes with a variety of advanced features that help you forget your chores. Similar to Ecovacs' range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-free cleaning machine that takes charge of both mopping and vacuuming, with a multifunction dock that automatically empty the vacuum's trash bin, refills its water tank, cleans and dry its mop pads.
The smart robot employs an array of LIDAR and structured light to map out floor plans and identify obstacles, navigating more intelligently than its more expensive rivals. It also has a camera mounted on the front to detect hazards in real-time however, it wasn't 100% foolproof during our tests and was sometimes confused by power cords or other obstructions.
The vacuum cleaner comes with the capacity to suction up to 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to accomplish the task. It also has a feature called "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for different areas of the house based on how dirty those areas tend to be.
For bigger homes it's worth looking for one with spot or zone cleaning modes that allow you to tell the robot to clean a particular area of your house via the app or via voice commands. If you have a lot of furniture, a stairway mode is also a good option. Additionally, a recharge and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum to continue where it left off is great for busy families.
iRobot RX3
The RX3 is more sophisticated than the price suggests. It has a great vacuuming performance, picking up 55% debris in our tests. (It was second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using a single pad and a rotating motion that cleans better that most of the robot mop cleaners that we've examined. And it's highly self-sufficient with a full-featured application and a self-emptying, washable base.
The well-designed iRobot app guides you through an initial mapping exercise that collects information about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you have marked on the map. It can be used to make cleaning schedules, set up an area for cleaning or to prioritize your most filthy rooms to ensure better performance. The app also provides access to a variety of features like seasonal suggestions, custom maps, and advanced settings for your cleaning.
It can also reach corners and under furniture more easily because its shape is more rectangular. It also has strong suction of 8,000 Pascal suction and combs that are intelligent for pet hair. It also has the ability to set up a spot cleaning that scours a specific area.
The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a sleeker and less expensive alternative to iRobot Roomba. It's more appealing, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras resemble cute eyes. It does a great job vacuuming, but it is more likely to get caught on low thresholds. It is also louder than other top
robot cleaner with mop
vacuums that we've tested. It also comes with an app that's not as intuitive, and a smaller base station that doesn't double as a bin to empty.
