, Upgrading
Upgrades to items allow players to boost the gear score of an
item upgrade
up to 700 and also add a final perk. Items can be upgraded by having them in inventory and heading to the kiln.
Certain items are worth upgrading due to their distinctive stats. (For example, a perfectly broken point armor that is rolled can be used in melee PvP). Other items, like weapons don't really change after an upgrade and therefore aren't worth it.
Weapons
Weapons can be upgraded to increase their numeric stats such as the chance to crit, attack damage as well as PvE and PvP damage. Weapons come with a flat-rate bonus that increases damage per second. In addition there are many weapons with a set bonus which is activated when three or more of the same weapon is present on a single unit. This bonus can sometimes be greater than the damage that a weapon upgrade alone can cause.
The cost of upgrading a weapon's capabilities is contingent on the rarity of the weapon and its current level. For instance, an upgrade to a +2 weapon will require two standard Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade a weapon will continue rise until it requires a higher tier of Smithing Stones, at which the amount will be reset to one.
Upgrades to weapons also reroll the stats of their base. While this is usually a good thing however, it could have negative consequences as well. Upgrades can make things unusable, unless you are extremely lucky.
Armor items can be upgraded to improve their effectiveness. For example, if you upgrade a helm or chest, this will increase the defense of its base, while a belt and gloves will improve their required strength and dexterity. Armor offers a rerolling option for its Enhanced Defense percent. This means that it is able to roll down to a lower value.
The upgrade template of a weapon will show the new stats that it will gain upon upgrading, along with the relative values of those stats. This means that a change from a sword that has 8 damage to an 11-attack-damage sword will result in a weapon receiving an attack damage of 3. However the 3% difference doesn't mean that it will be hit for 3 fewer times because it's an absolute number.
A weapon can be rerolled by pressing the green button, which is accompanied by circling arrows in the menu for items. The
item upgrades
will be rerolled and alter its stats but it will not reset the weapon's level or bind it to account status.
Armor
A few tweaks to your armor can make huge differences in your ability to endure. Certain sets offer massive improvements in the resistance to curses, poisons fire, magic, and other. This can make it easier to traverse difficult areas. In general, the more defense you have on your character, the more health you can get from each point. Therefore, it is recommended to upgrade your armor.
To improve your armor, head to any of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four in total, and each requires you to complete a specific side-quest involving the Stable Trotters musical troupe. Once you've completed the main quest, and the corresponding fountains, you'll have the option of talking to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the menu for upgrading armor.
Each piece of armor can be upgraded to three levels and the amount of materials and Rupees required to complete each level will differ. You'll require anything between three Red Chuchu jelly and 10 Rupees to upgrade the first armor piece, and anywhere between five Rubies or ten Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns to upgrade each subsequent one. The Champion Leathers, as an example, can be upgraded to a +5 defense rating, which will allow you to remain competitive in cold environments with a lot of foes. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other is able to be upgraded as high as +20 defense, which means you can survive a raid with your friends.
It's important to note that armor cannot be upgraded the same way as weapons, so you'll need to focus on upgrading it to gain physical power if you're Warrior or Spell Power if you're Mage. It is also recommended to save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor you'll still wear by the end of the story, like the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you use in the final boss fight the Monter Parts Merchant Mask.
By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town in Gerudo Town, you can unlock perks for your armor. You'll typically want to keep these upgrades to the weapon you'll be using to win the game. For example the Longsword or Battleaxe. It's nevertheless beneficial to have a few upgrades to the chest armor and helmets to let you escape some monsters.
Potions
Potions are substances in bottles that, if consumed, provide the user with the illusion of status for a few minutes. There are five kinds of potions with different effects and durations. Certain potions can be upgraded to improve their level of effectiveness. Additionally the effects of certain potions can be enhanced by adding glowstone dust or redstone to the potions.
Potion upgrades cost a specific amount of XP. This can be earned by making them using a craft table or in the chest of the Alchemist. However, the upgrade price will vary based on the kind of potion you wish to upgrade, as well as on the item's Mark Level as well as its rarity.
To upgrade a potions, right-click it in your inventory. Select "Upgrade" from the menu. This opens an GUI where you can choose the potions you want to upgrade and the amount of XP they'll give you when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches up to five at a time, and their XP will be added to the total amount of XP you have.
Once a potion is upgraded, it will not be degraded until you re-use it, or break the bottle it is stored in. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will allow you to change its name.
Version 1.7.2 brought a few changes to the way potions are used. For example the splash potions now have a duration of zero,08 seconds (this is not the equivalent of 22.5 seconds shown on the
item upgrade
hover display). The potion table is now crafted from four Wood Planks, and two Glass. This allows it to be used by players playing Survival and Bedrock. Contrary to Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions are not able to be mixed in cauldrons. This is the same for using a potion in the cauldron that is filled. This will drain the potion and refill the bottle.
Lastly, there are now lingering potions that are made with dragon breath and splash potions. In the same way, a lingering potion can be enhanced by adding redstone. The table of potions is laid out more in line with the Java Edition, and new potions were introduced, including the potion of leaping and the decomposition potion, as well as turtle master potions.
Trinkets
A trinket can be described as a small and affordable ornament or piece of jewelry. It may also refer to a piece of art or a decoration that serves a purpose, but is not particularly significant like a thimble. In certain cultures, trinkets are used to symbolize friendship or affection, especially between family members.
Players can upgrade trinkets in addition to weapons or armor, as well as potions. Upgrades can be made by paying the appropriate currency to an upgrade vendor. Trinkets unlike other items which can be upgraded can be swapped at will without losing stats.
The upgrade vendors can be found in major cities and the capital of each zone, as well as in some instances in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are purchased with gold, tokens or fragments of a rare trinket.
Upgrading a trinket is an economical alternative to buying an entirely new one. It is possible to upgrade the player for less than 12 tokens. The new trinket will have the same base ilvl of the old one, and will come with an additional upgrade bonus of 1.
Once the old Trinkets are no longer useful they can be upgraded. This allows players to increase both their power and value with time. They can also be traded between players, making them an extremely popular alternative to gold.
In general players should make upgrades to their highest priority items first. This usually refers to the most valuable-in-slot items for their class, then their secondaries, and finally other gear items that they won't replace soon (for instance, a ring or cloak). When deciding on the items to upgrade, players should consider the preferred statistics of their class. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats to a tank player, then they should upgrade their helm, chest and shoulders.
Once they have become useless trinkets can be upgraded to a higher level. The new trinket comes with an additional bonus of 1. A re-upgrade, however, will destroy the trinket unless it can be salvaged with the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a higher tier salvage tool. Upgrades to trinkets can be more expensive than other upgrades but still cheaper than buying an entirely new trinket.
