WoW Upgrades - The
Item Upgrader
Upgrades will give you a boost to certain stats. Each upgrade increases the level of the
Item Level upgrade
by +3. Each upgrade also boosts the random substatus.
The upgraded gear typically has a more value in trade, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or a very high stat variation (like Eth titan weapons). Upgrades are less useful for the latter because of the requirement to roll an exact version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by offering the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapons. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can be used to create the enchantments.
The upgrader is located in every major city, and can be visited anytime to upgrade your equipment. It is recommended to visit the upgrader every few weeks, to keep your equipment up to date.
Upgrades will cost more depending on the level of the item however, they are always less expensive than purchasing new equipment. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest to the level of ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. Buying a similar
item upgrading
will cost you 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used for weapons, armor, tools and accessory upgrades. They are purchased by players through item upgrader NPCs in exchange for different currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be used on any tool, weapon, or armor. button, which will show an item's preview at the next upgrade level when the player has enough materials.
Upgrade costs differ based on the
item upgrader mod
slot, and the current level of the item. For instance weapons cost more than bracers, or gloves. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a specific number of crests. Some upgrades give discounts on Flightstones. Once an
item upgrade
is upgraded to a certain amount, it can be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower cost.
Item upgraders can be found in many places, including the main island and some outposts. The NPCs offer an upgrade coupon as well as the chance to obtain a new recipe. The upgrade discount increases with the number of items that are being upgraded. It is also possible to be boosted by requiring players to complete specific achievements or complete quests.
In contrast to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II is no upgrader for items available at the start of Icewind Dale. Instead, the NPCs that are available to help with upgrades are acquired via a variety of means that are both an improvement but also a drawback.
In Season 3, a number of new features were added to the upgrade system. After a player has earned an upgrade to a specific level for an item in an armor slot, upgrading other items to the same level will be less expensive, even when they belong to an entirely different set of gear.
The discount is available to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed for upgrades is reduced as well, but is only available once certain milestones are reached.
Crests
Players have a number of choices when it comes to upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more specialized, and are used during specific item level upgrades. Crests are an important element of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System that was introduced in version 10.1. They are available in four ranks.
First, you must be aware that crests are only available for gear of a certain rank. Each rank comes with distinct upgrade paths. The simplest and most straightforward upgrade path costs 15 crests, while the more complex one can require as much as 20 crests depending on the kind of gear that is being upgraded.
Players can earn crests through working through tasks at the appropriate level. This could be done by doing outdoor activities or completing dungeons and raids in any difficulty to earn equipment of lower tier or Mythicbosses of raids or dungeons that have a high difficulty for endgame gear. These crests can be exchanged with an upgrader like Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken for the appropriate upgrade steps and pathways.
The new currency system isn't too difficult to use, however it brings some changes to the process of upgrading. For example, once an item is at the highest level of upgrading for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it won't require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change is intended to allow players to upgrade their gear up to the highest possible ilvl for all their characters instead of relying only on seasonal loot.
Another notable change is that crests only have one purpose and it's crucial to make use of them in a responsible manner. It is recommended to put your Whelpling-rank Crests on the best gear that you can find, and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next set of upgrades. This is especially relevant for trinkets and rings that occupy multiple slots on the character that will be able to take advantage of the discount for all accounts when all slots are full of high-quality equipment.
