It has a 220-degree lidar that combined with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it some of the most effective navigation and object avoidance I've ever seen in a robot vacuum. It's got a battery of 4600mAh which can last up to 170 mins when mopping and sucking is set to standard mode. (It can run longer when it is set to turbo). It can even return to the dock to top up its battery part way through cleaning robot mop and vacuum.

It's extremely efficient and does a great job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It cleans the carpeted areas extremely quickly, and the hardwood floors in the kitchen, hallways, and living room in a single sweep. Its suction motor of 8,000pa makes short work of picking up dirt, crumbs and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically increases power when it detects carpets, and the dual side brush helps to remove debris from corners.

The mopping efficiency, while still impressive, isn't as effective. The rotating mop spins at a high rate and pushes down with 2.2lbs of force, effortlessly scraping away dirt and stains. I've also noticed that the front arms extend out slightly more than other robots, which can be helpful for getting into tight corners and on baseboards. Those same front arms can be used to sweep larger pieces of debris, such as broken toys and fallen books.

Another nice feature is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest robot vacuums and mop I've ever tried. It is quieter and doesn't produce as much noise when vacuuming or mopping. The only downside is that the S1 Pro must use a specific cleaning solution to perform mopping and is sold separately from the vacuum. It is easy to install and performs well. However should you purchase this robot vacuum to mop you must pay attention to this.

The X1 Omni is the most expensive robotic vacuum that is able to mop in our review, but it also has unique features that make it worth taking into consideration. The X1 Omni's most appealing feature is its huge dock that doubles as the robot's charging base as well as housing for two 4 liter water tanks, a clean sink, and an automatic hoover 2.5-liter dust bin that automatically emptys.

The base has several control buttons, which allow you to manually start a cleaning task, recall the robot or use the dock's auto-emptying procedure. Hold down two of the buttons to toggle the child lock that is a great feature for parents who are worried about their children playing with the vacuum.

Similar to other robotic vacuums, the X1 Omni utilizes its camera to detect furniture and obstacles in its path, and then avoid them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system maps your home 10 times faster than laser detection systems and is four times more accurate at recognizing objects.

The X1 can be prone to become stuck when it gets caught in a hazard, such as the power cable that is draped over a rug. It won't work until you remove it manually. This was a rare occurrence however, it was a bit frustrating since the X1 does not have an "stuck status" alert on its application.

The X1 Omni cannot automatically switch from mopping mode to vacuuming mode during cleaning. You will need to manually switch between the two, which isn't an issue aside from the fact that the mopping pads haven't been cleaned and dried between uses, which can lead to mildew or mold.

The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame), who created its sleek modern, contemporary base and mopping pad. It's a significant contrast to the utilitarian, black bases of competitors like Roborock and iRobot and a pleasing appearance in a market which is dominated by clunky boxy models.
