However, it isn't as reliable at detecting pet waste or other dangers.

2. Eufy RoboVac X8 Hybrid

Eufy, owned by Anker is now an established brand in the world of low-cost robot vacuums. However, it did not offer an option to mop. The X8 Hybrid is a new model that comes with a variety of advanced features, and is able to compete with more expensive models.

Laser navigation is the primary selling point of this machine. The X8 utilizes laser mapping technology that is more precise than the previous Eufy devices. It also takes significantly less time to construct a comprehensive picture of your living space and also stores multiple maps, which is great for homes with multiple floors.

The X8 is a decent vacuum cleaner for floors with no dust. It is able to effortlessly sling debris under the side brushes and into the 400ml dustbin. Like the latest models from iRobot like the RX2 has a dual-sensor mapping system that uses the lidar robot vacuum sensor to map out the space and a pair of 3D scanning cameras that can detect and avoid obstacles (like furniture legs or pet waste) in real-time. Once mapped, the app lets you designate virtual no-go zones and favorite sections that the robot will clean automatically. The sensors of the RX2 work well by registering furniture and obstructions in real-time. Its sweeping and suction powers are exceptional, removing surface litter from carpets with medium pile and also removing embedded dust on bare floors. However, it's not the most agile robot on the market. Like many others, it's not a good climber and has issues with things like thresholds made of steel transition strips.
