Narwal Robot Vacuum and Mop

A relative newcomer to the world of robot vacuums, Narwal offers a sweeping and mopping system that's impressive. It's expensive and hindered by a cumbersome, slow learning-curve app.

Features

The Narwal T10 robot vacuum can clean, scrub and sweep hard floors. Its smart navigation and mapping system is based on simultaneous localization (SLAM) technologies. It also comes with anti-collision and cliff-sensing technologies that stop the machine from crashing into furniture or falling down the stairs. It can also identify and avoid rug. This is a typical problem with many robot vacuums/mops/hybrids.

The robot has two large tanks of water, one for clean water and another for dirty. Before a mopping run it will automatically go to its base station and soaks its pads in clean water from the tank. During the mopping process, sensors will inform you when it is time to replace the pads and refill water. It requires 16 ounces clean water, which is less than the majority of similar robots.

The T10 will automatically dry the pads when you've cleaned them. This prevents cross-contamination. Then, it will resume its mopping work from where it left off. This makes it less necessary to perform hand washing by hand, which is a big benefit, since it shields your hands from bacterial and allergens. This feature is unique to Narwal. Most robot vac/mop hybrids just dip their mop heads in buckets of sand that has been contaminated.

The T10's mopping mode is powered by a motor that rotates the pad three times per second. This allows for an extra thorough clean, especially in corners and around edges. The rotating pad is coupled with two side brushes to clean hair, dirt and debris into the vacuum slot. This eliminates the dust bin and is much more eco-friendly than traditional cleaning.

The app lets you draw an image of your home and allows you to define areas for both sweeping and mopping. You can also choose the intensity of cleaning that you want, for example, a deep clean that eliminates dirt and debris to ensure an efficient job. You can also define "no-go" zones, which tell the robot to stay clear of area carpets or other obstacles.

Performance

The Narwal Freo is an awesome robot cleaner and mop that does an amazing job of cleaning hard floors. It has large water tanks that are easy to maintain as well as a variety of mopping intensity settings. It also has the ability to clean small spills or messes from carpet. The vacuuming abilities are less impressive. Its 1,800Pa suction power is a step below more expensive robo-vacuums, like the Roborock S6 MaxV Ultra.

The Freo's smart mapping and navigation technology gives it the ability to adjust to the environment and plan an optimized cleaning program. It uses simultaneous mapping and localization (SLAM) to create an outline of the area, and then works in a zigzag style so as to avoid cross-contamination, and to ensure a consistent finish. This map can be shared with narwal application, allowing users to alter the cleaning settings and set no-go areas.

Once it's mapped once it's mapped, the Freo can automatically resume cleaning right where it left off. The mops of the Freo are self-cleaning and return to the dock for washing after every use. This saves time, and keeps hands away from contact with allergens and dirt. The Freo also conserves water by using only 16 ounces of water for each mopping cycle, which is around as much as you'd find in a large-sized coffee cup.

The robot is able to easily switch between mopping and vacuuming. It's an excellent choice for people who have both types of equipment in their home. It has excellent sweeping capabilities and is effective in picking up pet hair and local other particles. Dual side brushes on the Freo allow it to be more effective at reaching corners than single-brush vacuums. Its cliff-sensing, anticollision and anti-stuck functions also assist in avoiding getting stuck or crashing into furniture.

While it's a good vacuum/mop combo However, the Narwal T10 is pricier than most of its rivals. The Narwal T10's huge base station houses two 1.3 gallon tanks that need to be filled frequently. This can be frustrating, especially if you're used to the tanks that fill faster of other robots. The app is messy and uninspiring, and lacks the features for customization you'd expect from a best buy robot vacuum that costs more.

App

The Narwal robot mop and vacuum is a unique machine amongst the numerous all-in-one robovacs and mops available. While most others tout great mopping and vacuuming capabilities, with a mopping feature the T10 was designed as a self-cleaning two-in-one machine from the ground up. Its mopping and sweeping capabilities are extremely efficient and are easy to control from the narwal app, but it also has buttons on its base station that allow manual optimization mid-cleaning session.

The narwal mop and vacuum is also extremely energy efficient which makes it a great choice for late-night cleaning. The high-efficiency motor reduces the amount of noise it produces.
