The Eufy 11S robotic vacuum is one of the cheapest self-emptying vacuums on the market. It ably sucked up dry oats from hard floors and low-pile carpeting in our tests. Its dustbin is easy to empty and open -it's much simpler than other models in its price range.

It recharges at the base and resumes cleaning when it's at its best. Its obstacle-avoidance technology gets caught in socks and cords, and isn't able to get under thresholds that are low.

1. iRobot Roomba 11S

The 11S is among the cheaper self-emptying robots available and a lot of people seem to love it. It is great at scooting underneath furniture and is a great choice for those who have hard floors or who do a lot of cleaning. Its suction might be less powerful than our top picks, however it's still able to get the job done. It has a large dust bin and a durable battery. The app lets you schedule daily cleanings or pick a room. It's also possible to draw a map of your home, which will help the device avoid areas you don't want to go to.

It has a larger bin, performs better on any surface type and can climb over low-lying obstacles (like electrical cables) more easily.

The eufy RoboVac 11S is another option for regular vacuuming. It's designed in a similar way to our top pick and it is great for picking up small particles and dirt on hard flooring. It also does a great job on medium- and low-pile carpet. Like the Roomba by iRobot Roomba, it has a huge dirt compartment, and it uses BoostIQ to automatically adjust suction power. It has an easy-to-use remote control, and it is possible to organize daily cleanings with the app. Its battery lasts about an hour, and the dustbin can be emptied without removing it from the dock.

2. Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra

The Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra is an excellent robot vacuum cleaner and mop with a wide range of features for automation. The Roborock S7 MaxV comes in three models: the basic S7 model, the S7 Plus model, and the S7 Ultra. The S7 MaxV Ultra is the only one with an Empty Wash Fillet Dock (or an alternative Auto-Empty Dock). These docks allow the robot to return to its original location and empty the debris into a dust bag or reservoir, empty the dirty water tank and wash its mopping pads.

The S7's sensors work together to stay clear of obstacles and clean floors. It can recognize floor types, save maps of rooms and zones and even detect levels of dirt. It's also capable of scheduling and running spot-cleaning sessions. It was able to perform well in our tests, though it couldn't exactly match the Roomba j7+ in the carpet deep clean test.

Using the companion app, you can program the S7 to run a cleaning cycle according to your schedule. You can select an option for cleaning that is eco or automatic, as well as the day, week, or time. You can also choose whether the robot will stop if it runs out of power or encounters an obstacle.

It is easy to set up and comes with a large bin that is able to be easily empty (albeit loudly) to a trashcan when it is full. It can also be programmed to clean your entire house on a schedule.

The IQ XL can connect to your home WiFi, which lets you monitor it through the Shark app and see its battery levels as it cleans. The app lets you set cleaning schedules, receive notifications via push about its status as well as the ability to pause and resume cleaning, or limit it to one room. You can also control it with voice commands via Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. The app can tell you what power mode it's currently in, namely Eco, Normal, or Max. However, we couldn't determine that any of the modes had a significant impact to the cleaning performance.

However, the Shark IQ XL feels a slightly less sturdy than the Roomba 694. It does a good job in cleaning carpeted floors but doesn't match the iRobot Roomba i7 in terms of bare floor performance. iRobot j7+

It is easy to set up a cleaning schedule and change what happens when the dust canister fills. The j7+ is also controlled by voice assistants like Alexa, Google Assistant and others. The app allows you to create and view maps from your home.

In our tests, we found that the j7+ performed well on both hard and carpeted floors, cleaning most of the dirt we tossed at it. It isn't the best at dealing with pet hair as well as large debris such as sand, however it can clean these things with a little more effort. It also has good navigation capabilities and a pair of cliff sensors to stop it from falling down a flight of stairs or getting stuck on furniture legs.

We did find a couple of small niggles with the j7+. These include that it can snag on cords and carpets, and it doesn't always shut off its mopping when it's finished vacuuming. Otherwise, this is an excellent model that ticks all the right boxes.

The j7+ from iRobot also has one of the best Self-Emptying vacuum self-emptying systems that we've tested. It puts its 14oz 0.4-liter dust container into the base station where it will automatically empty itself for you to. This helps reduce the amount of garbage you must get rid of. You will only have to replace the dust disposal bag at the dock every 60 days, depending on how frequently you use the J7+.
