Once you've done that then the Neato app will guide you through the initial configuration (linking to Wi-Fi, giving the D4, etc.). When the D4 is fully charged it's possible to begin a cleaning process.

Once you've got your D4 running and you're ready to make use of the app to set up an automated schedule or manually start a clean anytime you like. You can also control it using your voice via Google Home or Amazon Alexa. And if you have an Apple Watch, you can even initiate cleaning with a simple tap on the wrist.

This model was a success in our lab tests on both hard and carpeted floors, capturing 91.3% combined of debris in serpentine paths. However, it's not as great in corner and edge cleaning as more expensive models--its side sensors keep the D4 approximately 1.5 inches away from walls. It's also iRobot's strongest vacuum, able of grabbing messes with deeper debris and more pet hair unlike other mid-range models like the Roomba 960. This is due to the cleaner's larger counter-rotating brushes and a stronger motor with more suction power.

The Roomba 995 is also iRobot's most affordable vacuum that has recharge and resume, however it's not equipped with the auto-empty feature that the I6+ and I7 offer. It also lacks iAdapt 2.0 navigation, as well as the camera that the I7 employs to identify objects and avoid obstacles. It can't access features like in-app containment, or save maps.
