The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo
The Q Revo is a fantastic choice if you are seeking a robot vacuum and mop that's priced in the middle. It offers a great mopping experience, but it lacks the features that make up its more expensive counterpart.
During testing it was able to handle dry oats and dust on medium-pile carpet and pet hair on hard flooring. However, like cheaper models, it doesn't use LIDAR to determine the layout of your home.
1. Roomba S9+ from iRobot
The iRobot Roomba S9+ robot vacuum is among the top-rated robots. It comes with a variety of features and incredible cleaning power, including an area for dirt that is built into the charging base. This robot can recognize your habits for cleaning and recommend automatic schedules that will give you the ultimate hands-free cleaning experience.
Setup is easy, thanks to the iRobot Home app that walks you through the process. Once the system is in place it can begin cleaning automatically with just one button. You can select an overall clean that emphasizes cleaning up larger debris like cereal and rice, or opt for two thorough maps of your home to ensure that your entire home has a clean and tidy appearance.
This robot vacuum performs well on both bare floors and carpets with low pile. It sucks up large items and does not lose suction as fast as some other models, and it can even pick up pet hair without difficulty. It's not the
best robot vacuum under 200
time with high-pile or plush carpet, however iRobot says it will get better with future models.
The S9+ is a new design by iRobot that is focused on enhancing corner and edge cleaning. It's the first Roomba that adopts a flat-fronted D-shaped design. The company hopes this will allow it hug the furniture and walls. It's a significant improvement over hockey puck-shaped robovacs which are widely used however we found it to be just marginally better than circular models.
iRobot also claims the S9+ has an improved filtering system that blocks microscopic dust particles and allergens from circulating throughout your home. It's a nice premise, but we're not convinced it's enough to justify the high price tag.
Its smart navigation system employs sensors that remember the layout of your home and vSLAM technology to map your interior. It then cleans your entire home with ease by avoiding obstacles like stairs and other barriers. The iRobot Home App allows you to schedule cleaning times and create virtual boundary markers to ensure that the robot is aware of which areas need extra attention.
2. Roborock Q Revo
Roborock Q Revo is a machine that combines mopping and vacuuming. Its vac settings are as effective as those of more expensive models and its mopping feature is superior, as its spinning pads do a much more impressive job of scrubbing your floors than a stationary vibration pad.
The only drawback is that it does not have an additional rubber brush for deeper cleaning, but it's a small price to pay if you want one of the best robots available. The dust tank on the robovac is bigger than most of its competitors, and filling it up only takes two or three times, even when you have maximum dirt.
For the mopping system, I was amazed by its ability to scrub tough dirt off my floors. Its two mopping modes at the lowest, which are less aggressive than the high-powered ones, create little noise, allowing you to work or watch TV without interruption. If it encounters a wall or piece of furniture, it gently bumps into it and then moves on.
What really sets the Q Revo apart is that it's designed to function almost completely autonomously, requiring only a little for human intervention. The dock of the robo-vac can be multi-functional and will automatically move garbage into a bin hidden. It also washes and dries the clean water tank. The app is capable of alerting you when something requires attention, for example, the water tank that is running out of clean or a scheduled vacuuming session having been canceled due to a stuffed dust bin.
You can also combine or create rooms to customize the way that Q Revo treats your home. This is a great feature for those who have multiple rooms in your home that have different floor materials or if there's some clutter that needs to be cleared out regularly, such as clothes, toys, and books. The robot vacuum was also among the top performers in my tests, picking up debris on carpets as well as hardwood floors with the first attempt. It can even remove wet spills, though I recommend wiping them dry with a cloth before sending the robot in.
3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni
The X2 Omni has all of the features you'd want from a top-quality robot vacuum and mop combo and more. Like the iRobot Roomba S9+, it is a top-quality vacuum with powerful suction that cleans carpet and hard floors, as well as a rotating mop that scrubs tough staining. It also comes with an automatic cleaning station that washes and cleans the mop pads, keeping them clean and ready for reuse. It also has a sensor system that can detect obstacles better which allows it to avoid falling on furniture and other objects.
The biggest improvement over the ECOVACS Deebot X1 is that it is sleeker and more modern design thanks to Danish firm Jacob Jensen Design (best known for Bang & Olufsen products). The robot is still big. It has a height of more than two feet both height and depth, and weighs almost four pounds. However, the robot and its base are smaller than the Roborock Q Revo or iRobot J7.
This model is more efficient than the X1 as it charges faster and can clean 1,500 square feet in a single charge. It also has a bigger and more robust dustbin that can store more debris. This makes it easier to empty.
Lastly it is worth noting that the X2 Omni has a more user-friendly app and an assistant voice that works offline, allowing you to use it even if you're away from home. It also comes with additional mopping modes as well as a smart routing feature which allows it to clean specific areas or rooms of your house instead of simply following a predetermined route.
The Omni X2 Omni has the top mopping performance of any robot we've tested because of its rotating mop pads that remove tough stains and a motor that generates plenty of downward pressure. Its vacuuming performance is also top-notch, and it boosts suction when it senses a carpet to ensure a thorough cleaning. It also has a large battery that can last for several weeks between charges and its mopping mode is as effective as any we've seen in the market for a consumer robot.
4. Dreametech L10s Ultra
The Dreametech L10s Ultra is a top-quality robot vacuum and mop that comes with a host of convenience features that you don't often see on robots of this price. It can build detailed floor maps, identify various flooring types and is one of the few that can automatically wash and dry the mop pads. These are nice features but they also push the L10s into the premium category. This might make it more expensive than homeowners need.
The L10s Ultra looks like a modern floor cleaning machine. It is slim and tall, with a white finish, accentuated by silver elements and mirror plating. The front of the machine has a large bumper that protects the vacuum cleaner and furniture while moving around your home. Behind the pane at the front is additional navigation technology with sensors that help the L10s Ultra navigate around tight corners and avoid obstacles.
On the top of the vacuum, there is a single button which serves as an on/off switch. This button will activate the
Vacuum Robot Mop
. By pressing it again, you can turn it off and send it to its base station. The circular menu at the center of the control panel allows you to select cleaning modes or schedules,
Vacuum Robot Mop
as well as preferences. The left and
Vacuum Robot Mop
right buttons will open the app's settings where you can alter the way the L10s Ultra interacts with your home.
The L10s Ultra, like the iRobot Roomba S9+ or Roborock Q Revo uses a combination of cameras and LIDAR technology to map your home. This allows the robot to clean and mop efficiently, without getting stuck. The LIDAR also lets the robot vacuum to recognize and avoid obstacles, which is a nice feature for households with children or pets.
The L10s Ultra offers solid vacuuming performance, clearing 98.4 percent of the debris from our hard-floor test and getting rid of all but the most difficult juice stain. Its mops also do a great job, removing 98.4% debris from our tile, carpet and wood tests. It was not as efficient at removing sand from the hard floor or quaker oatmeal from the carpet.
