But these flourishes don't mask mediocre performance, especially in the refrigerator's freezer and an ineffective temperature-controlled drawer. Since this refrigerator is more, I'd expect higher quality.

Apart from that minor flaw, this fridge is a great option. It has a huge freezer compartment that is not common for counter-depth French-door fridges. It also holds plenty of frozen food, which is a big difference from other models.

The fridge has 17 shelves and compartments. The fridge compartment has 18.5 cubic feet, which is the standard for a French-door refrigerator at this price. It has a decent-sized icemaker in the left door. But it's not the biggest one I've seen.

You can alter the shelves in both compartments to make an individual storage solution. The GE PYE22PYNFS's design for the interior is stylish, too. The LED lighting adds a nice accent. The in-door storage bins have a third shelf which can be folded down to store tall objects. The drawers include temperature controls that let you set them to Meat, Beverage or Deli settings. The drawers are easy to shut and open, but I found the textured plastic coatings a bit hard on my fingers.

The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator is equipped with a all the features you'd expect from a fridge at this price that includes Wi-Fi as well as app support through GE's SmartHQ software. The app, available for iOS and Android devices, lets you control your refrigerator from anywhere in the world, and offers a ton of customization options. It will also send notifications when the door is left unlocked, when the fridge or freezer needs to be defrosted, and when the filter has to be changed.

It would be great to have GE PYE22PYNFS could offer Precise Fill, an option found in a few GE refrigerators that allows users to set the amount of cups they wish to pour out. It does have a countdown feature on the fridge's display to show how much water you have left, but it's not as useful as Precise Fill.

Bosch Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

It is designed to look like a seamless part of your kitchen, Bosch's French-door refrigerator is one of a kind. The fridge uses fingerprint-resistant stainless steel, which is a great feature for busy households. It also has a vegetable compartment that keeps fruits and vegetables fresher for longer periods, and two compressors for preserving food items. The ice maker we tested was one of the most efficient and makes the shape of a pyramid using only water. This refrigerator is the ideal choice for single household or kitchenettes looking for a built-in look and top-of-the-line food preservation.

This fridge was rated as the best in our Refrigerators Test for a variety of reasons. Its freezer temperatures remained constant at just above 0°F and never fluctuated by more than a fraction, this is essential to avoid freezer burn. The fridge section of the fridge also performed well, reaching the desired temperature for initial set within an hour and keeping the temperature constant over the course of our tests.

Bosch is known for its premium appliances which is why it's no surprise that this counter depth refrigerator is also a smart appliance that has the option to connect to your home Wi-Fi and Bosch's Home Connect platform. This app lets you monitor and control your fridge remotely from your tablet or smartphone. The refrigerator is costly, but offers great features and functions at a reasonable cost.

It is important to know the limitations of your fridge. It has a small shelf space, so you may have to think creatively when storing tall objects. Also the shelves aren't completely sprillproof, and can easily be damaged or stained by sharp objects. It's easy to remove the trays from the fridge however, you must clean them regularly to prevent mold growth.

LG Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

The LG LRFLC2706S is a great counter-depth refrigerator that packs a lot of storage into a compact frame. It has a sleek, fingerprint-resistant stainless-steel finish and features thick handles that make them comfortable to grip. Inside, the refrigerator has an ordinary French-door design with gallon-sized bins for the doors on each door, two rows of spill-capture shelves and a set sleeker drawers. The top right shelf can be folded down to give tall items more headroom. You'll also find a full-width drawer for deli and an inside water dispenser.

One of the best things about this refrigerator is that the Ice maker is located in the freezer, making it simple to move the ice to the refrigerator to be used when it is needed. The freezer has thoughtful design elements, too, like sliding drawers that can help you to organize the place of items. It also has a large container for storing frozen food, and a separate bin for ice.

Another awesome feature of this refrigerator is its Smart InstaView panel. It allows you to control the temperature of your fridge as well as lighting from your smartphone. It's a nice way to control and monitor your refrigerator, particularly if you're away from home.

But while the Smart InstaView is a neat feature, it doesn't necessarily improve the overall performance of the refrigerator. In fact it took a bit longer to defrost and chill food in this fridge as compared to other fridges we tried. This is likely due to its greater capacity.

The doors are another problem with this refrigerator. The handles that are sunken allow shorter people to open them from the bottom. However taller people will have a difficult time closing them without slamming. It would have been much better if they came with a front-mounted handles.

The LG Counter-Depth MAX is a excellent choice for those who want to combine the benefits of a French-door refrigerator's aesthetics with an efficient layout. Its capacity is above average for counter-depth models and is able to cool evenly. It's also less expensive than the best counter-depth refrigerators that have an ice maker, which helps make it a popular choice.

Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Non Plumbed Fridge Door Refrigerator

This Frigidaire French door refrigerator is a good choice if you want a french door fridge large-door refrigerator that doesn't cost a lot of budget. It's a basic fridge that might not be as eye-catching like some of its competitors, but it still has enough features to make a an excellent choice. Its most important feature, the adjustable temperature drawer helps to keep food items like vegetables and meat fresher for longer. It also comes with a huge water dispenser, as well as an excellent ice machine that works fast.

The "Chill Drawer", which is situated over the two crisper bins, is another great feature. This drawer lets you direct the majority of your fridge's cooling power to the area so that you can keep food items that require extra attention. You can alter this feature using the slider located on the outside of the drawer. You can also use this to set a general cooling setting for the entire fridge but I've noticed that adjusting the general settings tends to produce better results than specific ones.

During my tests, I discovered that the temperatures of the refrigerator were fairly consistent in different areas of the refrigerator. The temperatures in the top and bottom of the fridge didn't vary very far from 38 degrees, and even the middle of the fridge was within one degree of 36. This is a great performance however it doesn't be among the top in our rankings.
