After a series of social media posts hinting at it, Italian supercar-maker Lamborghini has finally announced its first NFT (non-fungible token) project. Space Key was developed by a non-publicized artist, and based on cutting-edge carbon fiber composite materials that were shipped to the International Space Station as research material, is a new project that has been revealed by lamborghini countach key.

The physical component of Space Key

The digital artwork

Each Space Key contains a block made of advanced carbon-fire composite material, which was shipped to the International Space Station as part of a 2019 research project. After returning to Earth the Space Key was stamped with the QR code which links it to the digital component of the Space Key.

Each of the five Space Keys will feature a separate moment that occurs seconds apart as the Lamborghini Ultimae lifts off toward the stars. Over 600 million pixels up each of the five images, that were taken by photographer Fabian Oefner.

Oefner used a balloon with a camera to take each of the individual shots, that were then merged to create the final image. The result is a truly out of this world image that captures the beauty of the Earth and the futuristic, hyper-realistic look of the car rising from it. The Space Keys will be auctioned off in the near future, but the exact date and location of the auction hasn't been revealed yet.

The auction
