About Toto

The band Toto was formed in the year 1976 by guitarists Jeff Porcaro and David Paich (who were also well-known studio musicians with Boz Scaggs at the time) as well as bassist/singer Bobby Kimball. Taking their name from the Latin word which means "all inclusive," the group was determined to explore every musical style.

Toto reunited for the benefit concert in 2010 to raise funds for the ALS Foundation. It was the first time in more than 31 years that all Toto's original members performed together. In addition to the original members keyboardist Greg Tambu filled in for Paich and bassist David Hungate filled in for Shem Von Schroeck.

The album was a return to their best form and the tour that came with it was a sold-out event in North America and Europe. Toto's reunion was helped by the inclusion of guitarist Steve Lukather and bassist Shem von Schroeck, both of whom had rejoined the band.
