Cyberpunk 2077 Item Upgrading Guide

Item upgrading is a key component to maximizing the potential of your gear. It lets you add additional stats to the base value of your item.

Each upgrade template comes with a set of options which can be changed via the GUI. These options include the upgrading reference and the chance to upgrade.

Upgrade components

The process for upgrading weapons, armor, and other gear in Cyberpunk 2077 has been reworked as part of the 2.0 update. Upgrade components are available throughout Night City, and the item that you want to upgrade must have an upgrade slot. The game will display a preview of the expected stats for the item upgrade after upgrading. It will also show the component or material needed. If you don't have the required level or resource to upgrade item an item, the button will read "Blocked."

The items that can be upgraded include armor and weapons, a few trinkets, and gathering tools.
