WoW Item Upgrades

Item upgrades--more commonly known as "upping"--are items and enchantments that can be put on armor and weapons and increase their stats. These upgrade components add a number of points to the level gauge for the item, with the cost increasing with their popularity.

A perfectly made version of this armor is highly prized in the melee PvP community due to its ability to limit the amount of damage a weapon can cause.

Type-restricted upgrades

The upgrading process is a vital part of the crafting process. Upgrades can be used to increase the effectiveness of an item, make it stronger, or even provide a bonus effect. They also affect the item's appearance. Some upgrades are universal, whereas others have specific rules for armor and weapons. The wrong upgrade can ruin an otherwise fantastic weapon, and could even render it unusable.

As a rule it is possible to upgrade an item of equipment up to the level of its top-level counterpart. This means that you can upgrade body armors, helms, shields and gloves to the same level as their top-of-the-line counterparts. Weapons can be upgraded to the level equivalent of a sword. However, this doesn't boost the damage output of the weapon and could decrease its value in trade.

To upgrade an item you must spend flightstones and crests. The amount of both depends on the item level and slot. Upgrades to a sword, for example will require more flightstones than an upgrade to the Cloak. Also, you can get discounts on the number of flightstones or crests needed to upgrade an item.

The diamond-shaped indicator on an item gets filled up when it is upgraded. Each step raises the item's Tier level by one-third. Tier 3 is the highest level. It could take a few upgrades to reach this level, depending on the item. It is crucial to remember that any procedure that could mount a disk should not be run during an upgrade. You must also make sure that the disk you are upgrading is not being used as a system drive.

Enchantment allows you to change white or Common items to blue or rare ones. It can be done at Eleanor's Enchantment Shop in the Capital District. This procedure does not add gem or rune slots to the equipment however it does alter the size of the equipment. It increases the equipment's size by two categories smaller. For example the size of a Stormtrooper armor is Medium, and a Blaster Pistol Small.

Universal upgrades

Universal upgrades are upgrades that can be used on any kind of equipment. This includes armor, weapons and trinkets. Upgrade components can be obtained from Random drops or side quests. Universal upgrades can be temporary or permanent, and may overlap with Power Ups. They may also be linear or branching.

The Universal Upgrade is when "internal technologies" can give sentient creatures new capabilities that they are unlikely to acquire naturally. Examples of internal technology are implants or prostheses. This type of upgrade is different from medical internal technology that is designed to restore the natural capabilities. It's the beginning of a process that will transform civilizations fundamentally. The universal upgrade may be a lengthy and complex process. The process can be divided into two categories: complete success and partial failure.

This is similar to manner that resort upgrades are carried out at Disney or Universal. In the case of WDW the reason for this is usually due to operational requirements such as room availability or overbooking. In the case of Universal is involved, it may be to relocate guests to another resort that is open. This is not intended to be a mean-spirited thing but it is something that can be unavoidable in the current climate.

Unlike Runes, Sigils and Jewels which are only applicable to certain types of equipment (armor, weapons or trinkets), universal upgrades can be applied to any gear. They can be used on multiple items at a time. They are therefore more versatile than other types of upgrade. This flexibility can be a problem when upgrading items on a specific gear path. It can raise the item levels of all pieces along the path.

Before upgrading, it's important to stop PowerShell Universal and delete any existing application files. After that you can install the new files using the GetChildItemRecurse command or Unblock-File. It is recommended to also run a basic validation against your PSU server to ensure that it works properly.

Jewels

Jewels can be incorporated into weapons, armor or accessories. The reagents and gems used to create them can give different stat bonuses and secondary effects. They are found in Golden Chests, Rift Incursions, V Blood Carriers and other regular enemies. They can also be purchased from a Master Craftsman in exchange for gold or karma. Jewels can also be crafted at a jewelry table using 1 gem and 5 of the same ingredients to create a jewel of greater or lesser tier; this process is identical to upgrading a gemstone using a table for gem crafting.

Jewel tiers are based on the amount of modifiers they have, with higher-tier jewels having more modifiers than those of lower tier. The primary effect of a gemstone is determined by the tier it's and the secondary effect is randomly generated players can use luck potions to increase the probability of having better secondary effects.

Like other upgrade components jewels can be inserted into an item using a matching socket to enhance the item's. A Garnet Jewel and a Garnet Stone both boost the strength of an item however, a Garnet Jewel also boosts a player's ability to strike with force. Jewels can be placed in all weapon, armor and accessory slots. They can also be used with some exotic trinkets, or lesser rarity trinkets that need slots.

As with other DM mechanics, gems help to ensure that items are special to their owners. Through offering a variety of different upgrade paths, jewels allow players to modify their equipment and choose the Best item upgrader combination for them. They can upgrade their equipment with new gems in the event that they feel that the initial set is no longer suitable.

Requirements

This window will show the upgrade level, any upgrade type bonus (such as Tech Points or Quality Chance), and the cost of the upgrade. The upgrade level is shown in an upper bar on the top of the screen, and the type bonus for upgrading is displayed below it.

If the player chooses to upgrade the item, the item will be brought to the NPC who upgraded the item upgrader mod who will explain how to upgrade the item. The player will then need to supply the correct currency and, if required, additional materials. These requirements are based on the item's level with weapons generally having stricter requirements than armor.

In addition to the necessary upgrade components, a lot of upgrade recipes have an 'Acceptable Materials' list. This list includes the other components of an upgrade that can be used to upgrade an item. It also contains a flag that indicates whether or not it is a guaranteed boost. This is crucial because the value of an upgrade can differ greatly based on its 'extras. For instance the gear that is perfectly rolled can be worth more than the unupgraded version.
