The S1 requires periodic maintenance, just like all 2-in-1 robots. In order to do this, you'll have to clean the dirty water tank occasionally to prevent it from clogging. You will also need to clean your swivel wheel and sensors regularly to avoid them getting blocked by dirt or dust. But, overall the S1 is easy to maintain, especially compared to other models that require more hands-on maintenance.

Its navigation abilities are also pretty good, although it can be stuck on small area mats and rugs in my home (which you can mitigate by defining virtual boundaries in the app). Its mopping capabilities are also quite good with a pair of spinning mop heads that lift and scrub the floor, rather than just moving the pad across it. The mops can also be cleaned using heated water and dried in the basestation when required. The mops are also filled from the top of the base station when required.

3. Dreame X40 Ultra

Dreame's X30 Ultra robot vacuum and mop was launched earlier this year. However, their latest flagship model is packed with impressive features. It delivers outstanding cleaning results, and it is easy to maintain. This makes it a contender for our list of the top mops and robot vacuums. Its superior mapping capabilities, RGB AI smart recognition and a long side brush guarantee a thorough, custom-designed clean.

The X40 Ultra vacuums well, getting rid of both large and fine debris. It is a great choice on hard floors and carpets. It was able to clean the dirtiest areas of our tests efficiently, avoiding pet hairs and other mess. The Q5 was among the few robots we tested to not have a problem with high-pile area rugs and carpets. However, it was able to not handle kitty litter or cable tangles. This isn't surprising because it doesn't include AI-powered obstacle-avoidance.
