This is the model you need to choose if you want an automatic vacuum cleaner that can also mop. It's smaller than other models which makes it more maneuverable in tight spaces or under furniture. It packs a powerful 4600mAh battery that lasts for up to 170-minutes if mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it can run longer in turbo). It can even return to the dock to top up its battery halfway through cleaning.

It is very fast and does an excellent job cleaning my two-bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted areas extremely quickly, and hardwood floors in the hallways, and living room in a single sweep. Its suction motor of 8,000pa will quickly pick up dirt, droppings and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it comes into contact with rugs, and the two side brushes help pull out dirt from corners.

The mopping performance, while still impressive, isn't as effective. The mop rotates at a high rate and is pushed down with 2.2lbs of force, effortlessly cleaning up dirt and staining. I've also noticed that the front arms extend out a bit more than other robots, which can be helpful for getting into tight corners and along baseboards. The same front arms can be used to clean up larger debris, like broken toys or books.

The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mops and vacuums I've used. It doesn't produce the same amount of noise when mopping or vacuuming, and is much quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it must use a proprietary mopping solution and is sold separately. It is easy to install and Robot Vacuum performs well. However when you purchase this robot vacuum solely for mopping purposes, you will need to pay attention to this.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo is different from other robot vacuums in its class. It is equipped with a broad array of features that make it an ideal choice for homeowners who want an extremely efficient, flexible and adaptable cleaning machine.

It's a bit old-fashioned to have separate modules for vacuuming and mopping however it does mean you don't need to worry about changing the bags for disposables or refilling the tank with water.

Our testers found that the Matrix Plus did a great job of vacuuming and mopping. Its most impressive feature is its precise floorplan map, which it uses when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate easily through rugs, furniture and other obstacles. The app lets you create 'No-Go Zones' and virtual barriers to stop certain areas from being cleaned by mop.

The Matrix Plus also did a surprising job of collecting hair of pets. The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuum that can be found in our review, but it also has distinctive features that are worth taking into consideration. The X1 Omni's most appealing feature is its massive dock that doubles as the robot's charging base as well as housing for two water tanks, a sink for cleaning and the 2.5-liter dust bin that is automatically eliminates.

The base also has a variety of control buttons that allow you to start a cleaning job or recall the robot or start the dock's auto-emptying process. Press two of the buttons to toggle a child lock, which is a nice touch for parents worried about children playing with the vacuum.

The X1 Omni, like other robotic cleaner and mop vacuums, utilizes its camera to detect furniture and obstacles in its path. It will steer clear of them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system maps your home 10 times faster than standard laser detection systems and is four times more accurate in recognizing objects.

Unfortunately this means that the X1 Omni can sometimes get so entangled with an obstruction, such as an electrical cord dangling across a rug that it becomes stuck and ceases to function until you free it. Although this is not a common occurrence, it was a frustrating experience when it did happen particularly since the X1 Omni does not have an "stuck" status alert in its app.

Another issue that could be a problem is one of the biggest drawbacks is X1 Omni's inability to automatically change between vacuuming and mopping modes during cleaning. You'll need to manually swap between the two modes, which isn't a big deal aside from the fact that mopping pads aren't cleaned and dried between uses and can cause mildew or mold.

On the bright side it's worth noting that the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot vacuum cleaner thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who came up with its sleek, modern-looking base and mopping pad apparatus. It's a big change from the utilitarian all-black bases used by competitors like Roborock and iRobot and is a refreshing appearance in a market that is dominated by bulky, boxy units.
