It cleans the carpeted areas extremely quickly, and hardwood floors in the hallways, and living room in a single sweep. The suction motor's 8,000pa is quick at picking up dirt, crumbs, and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically increases power when it detects rugs and the double side brush helps to remove debris from corners.

The mopping efficiency is less impressive, but not by a lot. The mop rotates at a high rate and it pushes down with 2.2lbs of force, easily scraping away dirt and staining. I've noticed that the front arm extends out a little more than other robots. This is useful when getting into difficult corners or on baseboards. The same front arms can also be used to scoop up larger objects like books and broken toys.

Another good thing is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest robot vacuums and mop I've tried. It is quieter and doesn't make more noise when mopping or vacuuming. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it needs to use a proprietary mopping solution and is sold separately. It is easy to install and works well. The X1 Omni is most notable for its massive dock that serves as a charging base for the robot, a sink for cleaning and two water tanks of 4 liters. It also houses two bins: a 2.5-liter dust bin and the 2.5 dust bin that is 2.5 liters.

The base also comes with a set of buttons to control the system. These allow you to manually start cleaning and then recall the robot or use the dock's automatic emptying process. Press two of the buttons to turn off the child lock, which is a nice touch for parents worried about children playing with the vacuum.

Like other robotic vacuums the Omni Omni utilizes its camera to detect furniture and obstacles in its path and avoid them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system maps your home 10 times faster than standard laser detection systems and is four times more precise in finding objects.

This can cause the X1 to become stuck when it is entangled in an obstacle like a power cable draped over a rug. It won't function until you remove it manually. While it was not common, it was a frustrating experience when it did happen, especially since the X1 Omni does not come with an "stuck" status alert in its application.

The X1 Omni isn't able to automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming mode during the cleaning process. You will have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't too bad but mopping pads don't get cleaned or dried between uses. This can lead to mildew and mold.

On the positive side, the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who conceptualized its sleek, modern-looking base and mopping pad apparatus. It's a big contrast to the utilitarian, all-black bases used by competitors like Roborock and iRobot, and a welcome appearance in a market that is dominated by clunky boxy models.
