What is an Item Upgrader in Pokemon Go?

The upgrader for items adds a new widget to the top of the Angel and Cash Upgrade windows. This Manager is priced at 33 billion Angel Investors and offers no benefits to gameplay other than making it easier to find and buy upgrades.

Boosters

Costs

Upgrades come with a few associated costs. The first is the cost to perform the upgrade. The cost for this upgrade can be costly and depends on the new ilvl of the item and the number of perks it gets. It is also costly to upgrade an item to a higher tier (such as Explorer > Champion, or Veteran > Heroic).

The second is the cost of the materials required to upgrade. These are typically Power Dices (dropped from monsters 21+), Minerals and Erons or specific Mists Of Pandaria or Warlords of Draenor Quests. These materials can be found in the inventory of an upgrade vendor.

It takes time to upgrade an item. It can take up to 8 hours, depending on the size of the upgrade. The stats that are the base of the upgraded item are calculated based upon its new ilvl as well as other characteristics. This calculation determines the latest Armor Class bonus, damage dice, and other crucial stats. In certain cases the upgrade will provide additional advantages that can be picked from a list of advantages.
