The Eufy 11S robot vacuum is among the cheapest self-emptying vacuums on the market. It efficiently sucked up dry oatmeal from hard floors and low-pile carpeting in our tests. Its dustbin is easy to open and empty -- easier than those of some other models in the same price range.

It charges at its base, and then begins cleaning when it's clean. However, its obstacle-avoidance technology gets tangled up in socks and cords, and it can't go under low thresholds.

1. iRobot 11S

The 11S is among the most affordable self-emptying robots and lots of people seem to adore it. It is great at maneuvering under furniture and seems to be a good option for people with hard floors or who want to perform light daily cleaning. Its suction is weaker than our top picks, but it's still effective. It also has a huge dirt bin and a battery that lasts for over an hour. The app allows you to schedule daily cleanings, or select a specific room. You can also create a map of your home to allow the device to avoid areas that you don't wish it to visit.

The app is simple to use and has a clear layout. It's not a full-featured app however, it's simple to use and lets you check the status of your robot. It also has a tutorial which will walk you through the basics.

Bounce Navigation's cleaning patterns aren't always logical. Sometimes it follows straight lines, and other times it focuses on the edges of the space. However, it cleans your entire floor. The Shark IQ XL is a great vacuum cleaner. It does a good job cleaning floors that are not bare and it can maneuver itself well. However it's not the best choice for carpeted floors. Shark IQ XL feels a bit less sturdy than the Roomba 694. It clears lots of dirt from bare flooring and does a decent job of moving itself around however it isn't close to matching the iRobot Roomba i7 in terms of performance on carpeted floors. The i7 also feels more durable, is more robust, requires less maintenance, has lower recurring costs and charges more quickly, and offers comparable battery performance. It also has more advanced automation features, such as no-go zones and the ability to choose specific rooms to be cleaned.

4. iRobot J7+

This robot vac/mop combo is a rarity because it can do both tasks exceptionally efficiently. IRobot's Combo J7+ comes with all the smarts of its j7 counterpart, including self-emptying and LiDAR mapping but with additional features for mopping and vacuuming.

The j7+ makes use of the latest acoustic sensor technology to identify the floor type, so that it can clean or mop the area on its first pass. This information is also used to prioritize cleaning rooms with carpets and rugs versus those with hard flooring.

Like most robotic vacuums, the j7+ is surprisingly quiet while it's running. It's much quieter when mopping. The maximum reading of 64db on our decibel meter is comparable to general office chatter.

This will reduce the amount of trash that you need to dispose of. You'll only need to replace the bag on the dock every 60 days, based on the frequency you use the J7+.
