iRobot was the first company to introduce self-emptying robots in its Roomba i7. It's now elevated the technology to a whole new level with the s9+. The flagship model is expensive, but it has the highest performance we've seen in any robovac and comes with upgrades that other brands only dream of.

It first takes in dirt and then it is able to store it in its Clean Base. It then emptys the dirt into a huge bag that you can throw away every 60-days. This makes it a great option for those who wish to take a hands-off approach to cleaning but want the peace of mind that comes from knowing that their home is always free of allergens and germs.

The s9+ also comes with advanced corner cleaning capabilities that bring it much closer to walls than the previous models, and it's more adept in spot cleaning too. The application will return to an area when it senses it requires more attention. If the area is extremely dirty, the s9 will return to it with a stronger suction until all the mess is cleared away.

You can control the s9+ with the app that comes with it or by using Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant (the s9+ supports both) It allows you full voice commands, including the ability to start and stop, as well as pausing. You can also set a specific time for the robot to start and end its work or let it decide when it's ready to come back to its dock.

You can control the SharkClean with the SharkClean App or by voice commands via Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. It also comes with physical boundary markers that you can use to restrict its access to specific areas.

It has a relatively simple black design that feels and looks great. It's simple to put together right out of the box, since it requires only just a few snaps to attach the side brushes and charging dock. Its dirt compartment is a bit tiny, and you'll need to empty it fairly often.

In tests, the IQ Robot XL quickly responded to the app's controls and performed well during cleaning cycles. The app lets you choose power modes, alter settings, and check the battery level of the robot while it's working. However, the iRobot feels better-built, charges faster, and has similar battery performance, and has an advanced suite of automation capabilities that allow you to customize your home's coverage map to include no-go zones.

4. Eufy 11S

The Eufy 11S robot vacuum is ideal for people who don't want to use a smartphone or voice control, but still want a robot that can clean according to their schedule. The sleek robot is simple to set up and maintain and is able to remove dirt and dust without much effort. It is ideal for cleaning light-duty daily tasks to keep your floors looking beautiful.

It's not as impressive as our other top picks but offers some benefits worth considering. Its small size allows it to be able to maneuver under furniture with low profile which other vacuums can't. It also comes with an efficient 'Quick Clean mode that makes multiple passes to get your floors as clean as possible. The 'Smart Pathing' feature isn't as efficient but it's sufficient to ensure that you don't repeat the same cleaning paths over and over again.

This model isn't quite as efficient as the iRobot Roomba S9+ but it performs better than Coredy R550 which is identical in price to the bObsweep Bob Pro. The Eufy 11S is more expensive than the iRobot Roomba 614, but it's also more expensive than the Ecovacs N79S. The iRobot Roomba 614 is more expensive, but it's also more durable, has a longer battery life and can collect more dust and dirt. It's also easier to maintain, incurs fewer expenses that are recurring, and has more automated features. The app that comes with it is better as well, providing more details about the status of the vacuum as well as its battery level.
