Slot Rankings - How Wide Receivers Score More Touchdowns in the Slot
Slot machines operate the same way for every spin, which means you won't find any secret hacks to beat them. There are some tips that you can apply to increase your chances of winning.
First, check out a game's RTP. This number will tell you how much players can expect to win on average over the long term.
Slot Efficiency
Slot efficiency is the goal of maximising the number of slot switches that can be constructed while not violating certain constraints. These constraints typically include the minimal operational delay (usually expressed in terms of scheduling delays), fairness and equity, access and competition, environmental objectives and many more. The slot allocation process can be a complex process and optimizing it to achieve the desired performance metrics requires a careful examination of the factors involved.
In general, the process begins with the identification of types of requests to be prioritized based on precedents. Once the type of request is determined, a slot allocation model is utilized to reduce the delay criterion. However, many research gaps have been observed regarding the optimization of slot scheduling models, particularly when it comes to balancing efficiency and

fairness.
ABC (assigned based on velocity) is a common method of prioritizing slot assignments. This strategy collects item information and then determines a group based on velocity. Items that have the highest velocity get the most

, while less popular items are placed farther back in the warehouse.
Another key element of slot effectiveness is the distance factor, which is the amount of space that has to be allocated to support the pick-to-ship process. The measure takes into account the velocity group of the items as well as their racking placements and the characteristics of handling equipment.
It is also important to be aware of the costs associated with a slot change in order to increase the efficiency of the slot. A quick review of the typical slot change will help managers determine the costs associated with the move, and also the impact that it might have on other aspects of slot efficiency, like speed.
After a few months of validating the data, and re-evaluating the recommendations, the casino started using the solution more frequently. The gaming operations team estimates that they will save between 10 and 12 hours per month with their usual analysis. This is not including the time spent reviewing the data of customers or developing a new, effective strategies.
The team was able with the help of the new recommendations offered by SRE to make dozens game changes that resulted in more the revenue of players. In particular, Dancing Drums Explosion and Twinstar Wave XL both from Scientific Games, saw big increases in the premium lease and WAP rankings. The casino was also able to shift their budget from marketing and other expenses to improve the floor's performance.
Perimeter Efficiency
We all know wide receivers are more likely to score touchdowns when they are able to hit perimeter targets,

rather than

targets. This is because they are usually targeted downfield, and often face one on one coverage. But what might surprise people is the difference between the top five slot receivers and the rest of them in terms of scoring on those targets that are located in the perimeter.
Of the 66 wide receivers who have seen at least 40 targets each of the last two seasons, the top five slot scorers on perimeter routes were all speed receivers: Mike Evans, Amari Cooper, Tyler Lockett and Michael Gallup. The bottom half of this list is dominated by receivers who are more possession-based, such as Chris Godwin and Diontae Johnston. The Bucs are likely to move the latter two into the slot more often during this season, which will increase their targets. However, they'll need to improve their scoring on the perimeter in order to keep their high standards.
Speedy wideouts are among the biggest beneficiaries of moving into the slot as they typically have a much easier time getting open in the field in the event that their route isn't blocked by a linebacker or cornerback. Corey Coleman is the only wide receiver who's not a speedy wideout, but could benefit from more slot work. He's a reliable target for intermediate and short routes.
Jerry Jeudy, KJ Hamler and other possession-based receivers are at the lowest of the list. They are better in intermediate and short routes, rather than in deep areas. Jeudy is a good sleeper pick this year as the Rams' primary slot receiver for the Rams while Courtland Sutton and Amari Cooper are likely to be involved on more downfield targets. Hamler is expected to excel on shorter-to-mid and intermediate routes, since that's where he excelled while playing for the Bills in 2021. Hamler could be a great replacement for departed wideout Jordan Matthews in Buffalo.
Percentage of Snaps In Slot
The proportion of snaps a receiver plays in the slot is an excellent indicator of their ability to play deep routes. It's not always a true reflection of a receiver's abilities since certain receivers excel in the slot but don't play more deep.
For instance, the Eagles Alshon Jeffery is the leader in the league in the number of targets per game (4.8) however, he is ranked sixth in slot receiving score (58.5). This is due to the fact that the majority of his targets are from outside and it's hard to make a first down on a wide-open, deep and wide-open route.
Certain receivers are better playing inside, while others struggle on the outside. Robby Anderson, for example was given 978 snaps by the Panthers this season. He ran 74% of his route in the slot, as opposed to just 26% on boundaries routes. That's a huge improvement and illustrates how much more efficient he is when aligned in the slot.
Additionally there is the Buccaneers' Chris Godwin lines inside on the majority of his passing downs and has a top-five slot receiving score (58.5). However he also played 51 percent of his perimeter routes last season, and is a star in one-on-one coverage.
Speed receivers tend to be more effective when they are lined up inside. They can be targeted further down the field, and are often faced with one-on-one coverage. There are names like Mike Evans, Amari Cooper, and Julio Jones in our top five.
McDuffie, Moore and other slot cornerbacks also belong to this group. McDuffie is the top player in the NFL in forced fumbles having seven, while Moore has the best tackle-stopping efficiency (-3.5) on this list. Spagnuolo increased McDuffie's capabilities by placing him in the slot for

nickel and dime packs and then shifting him to the outside for base defense. In addition, Moore's capability to stop big run plays has been a tremendous advantage when playing in the slot.
Percentage of Snaps Outside
While top NFL receivers like Golden Tate, Larry Fitzgerald and Baldwin excel on the perimeter however, their slot counterparts are equally good. Wide receivers who have a high slot grade have touchdowns that are about the same as those on the outside. This is mostly because quarterbacks have a more stable target distribution when throwing to slot and outside receivers than to other inside options, such as tight ends and backfield pass-catchers.
It's therefore fascinating to see a receiver like CeeDee lamb on this list for 2022. He plays the slot in 3 WR sets, and flanker in 2 of them. Lamb is running more routes in the slot than a lot of the players listed on this chart. This is an excellent way to generate matchup benefits for your team. It also helps clarify why Lamb is the highest-rated slot receiver in our system this season.
Of course, he also plays the X position and makes huge plays on the perimeter, too. Lamb isn't as fast as some of the other players on this list but he is still an elite wide receiver who fits well into the Cowboys scheme.
Mecole Hardman, another player who can put huge numbers on targets of all kinds, is a further example. He has a very high slot receiving grade and is among the league's top players at catching back-shoulder throws, however, he's also a formidable contested-catch threat.
Jalen Hilton is another player who is a slot specialist. He's lined up in this position on 85.7 percent his defensive snaps to date. He has the third-lowest EPA for targets and the fifth-highest EPA for runs stopped among cornerbacks in the slot. This makes him a valuable part of his team's defensive line. He has struggled to stop passes from the outside and his EPA against this type of target is negative. This is because he's been playing with safety and linebackers who can't compete with Hilton's speed, size, and route-running abilities.
