Beginning the Engine

You can activate this feature by using the key fob if your vehicle is equipped with a dealer-installed Engine Remote Start. The vehicle will be able to cool or heat at the same temperature it was set to when it was parked. It can last for up to 15 minutes.

Remove the back cover of the key fob by using your fingernail. A button should be placed under the cover at a diagonal, near the edge of the body. Slide it down and to the right. The cover will then come open and slide off and reveal the manual key blade! If you're not able to locate the button, search the now-uncovered manual key access to find a lever or slot.

Close the Windows

One of the hidden features that is not visible on Volvo key fobs is that you can close all windows instantly when you use the fobs. This is a great feature when trying to squeeze into a cramped parking spot, or even simply when you want to get some fresh air inside the cabin while driving.

Press and hold the unlock button on your Volvo remote control for four seconds. This will lower all of the windows, and the sunroof if your vehicle has one. Once you're finished with the car you can shut everything by pressing the lock button once more for four seconds.

You can also use your key fob to activate your car's panic alarm. It will sound an intense, attention-grabbing roar that will frighten off thieves and allow you to return home safely after a long night out. This feature comes in handy when you live in a secluded area or you want to safeguard your family members when they are away.

Opening the Tailgate

The key fob of Volvo is loaded with many useful features. They are great if you have your hands full with shopping or helping your kids pack their sports equipment after a session.

If you have the Hands-Free Liftgate with Logo Projection and Programmable Height (if equipped) then you can open it using the key fob. Simply press the button to open it, then use the same button to close it once you're done.

Turning off the Alarm
