Features to Look For in a running pushchair [

Unlike traditional strollers, running pushchairs have large wheels that allow them to roll smoothly at running speeds over uneven sidewalks and roads. They come with adjustable suspension to ensure a smoother ride for your child.
Before you start running, work on your core, leg, and arm strength. When you're ready follow our guidelines for jogging in strollers and pick a stroller that fits your requirements.
Adjustable Handlebar
Adjustable handlebars can help you find the right place to run using the stroller. It is important that you run with a tall, upright posture. To prevent arm and wrist discomfort, it's important to keep a proper hand position. A handlebar that is too low will cause you to put much weight on the front wheels and can cause instability and brake problems. A handlebar that is too low forces you to bend your hips inwards which can result in back pain and poor posture.
Typically the handlebars are raised or lowered by simple bolts located on the frame or headset. The exact bolts to use differ between models and you should consult the owner's manual for specific instructions. You can also change the angle of your handlebars using the bolt that holds the stem. However, this is difficult and requires you to adjust the bike when it's placed on an upright.
To adjust the height of the handlebars, loosen the stem clamp bolts (also known as top-cap bolts), a quarter turn at a time until you reach the desired position. When tightening the bolts, do so with care since over-tightening may cause damage to the headset bearings. If the handlebars still feel stiff after you have adjusted the height, it is likely a sign that the headset bearings need service or replacement.
If you're not sure of the size stem you'll need to use, ask your local bike shop for help or ask a friend to measure your steerer. Don't make any guesses. You could end with a stem that is uncomfortable or damaged. It is possible, although inelegant, to shim the stem with thin stock, but if you make an aluminum stem conform to a shape it wasn't designed to be it will fatigue and break.
The size of the stem isn't always specified, especially with newer stems that have an entirely different "rise" angle. The reach of a typical "7" stem is usually presented in a clear way, but other types specify the reach on a different axis from the rise axis which can cause confusion.
Front Wheels Swivel
The front swivel of a running pushchair is an excellent feature for suburban and urban settings where it's easy to move your stroller through stores sidewalks, and other areas in which you could use the pushchair. It makes it easier to make quick turns and avoid obstacles such as potholes and rocks while still providing the stability of a fixed wheel stroller.
But, if you don't intend to use your running pushchair for anything more than a few jogs, or leisurely strolls on surfaces the swivel wheel could be a waste of money. A fixed front wheel is more stable and has the added benefit of having your eyes on the road instead of looking down at your baby.
This is among its most impressive features. The innovative system allows you to quickly and easily change the direction of your front wheel from locked straight forward for running to swiveled everyday use. There's no need to reach underneath or fiddling with a latch or lever to change the position of the front wheel - you simply push a top-mounted button and you're good to go!
Most of the time, this type of front swivel wheel lock is activated when the pushchair first gets used to ensure that it will only move in a straight line. This assists new users in learning how to control the vehicle without having to worry about it drifting off course. The wheel lock can be removed once the user is more comfortable with the new pushchair. Swivel wheels will then provide the user with greater flexibility and agility. This is particularly useful for parents who wish to be able to quickly and easily move their

when running or engaging in other activities with their child.
Parking Brake
Another important feature in a buggy is a solid and reliable parking break. Some models require you to step on two pedals in order to engage the brakes. Other models have spring-loaded mechanisms that are simple to disengage or engage with only one foot. The parking brake must be engaged with a firm force even when the running pushchairs are not in use. Other safety features to think about include a front wheel that is locked suspension, an effective wrist strap for your hand.
