Once the D4 is operational, the app allows you to create a schedule automatically or manually at any point. You can also control it with your voice using Google Home or Amazon Alexa. If you have an Apple Watch you can start cleaning by tapping the wrist.

In our lab tests, this model cleaned well on carpeted and hard flooring It picked up 91.3 percent of the debris in serpentine pathways. The Roomba 995 is also iRobot's lowest-cost vacuum, with recharge and resume, but it doesn't have the auto-empty feature that the I6+ and I7 offer. It lacks iAdapt navigation 2.0 and the camera used by the I7 to track objects and avoid obstructions. This means it can't save maps or access features in-app that contain information, such as no-go zones.
