Fabric sling seats sit snugly within the frame of the buggie, as opposed to sitting on top of it as modular seats. This design delivers a lower center of gravity at the perfect height, instantly making it easier to push and lighter to kerb pop (you cannot underestimate how often you'll do this as a new parent!)

Seating

Older infants and toddlers will love the spacious and padded seat unit with adjustable ventilation. It's important to note that these seats don't recline fully, but they can be adjusted to the lowest level which will give your child plenty of headroom and room to move around.

A sling made of fabric is also available. It has the advantage that it is placed within the frame, rather than on top as a modular seat. This means that it has a lower centre of gravity, with a perfect weight distribution. This makes it easier to push, particularly on bumpy terrain or over curbs. MFM reviewer Kath liked the way this kind of seat dealt with obstacles.

MFM's reviewers have noticed that the 3 wheel stroller brands-wheeler frame won't pass through all doors in their homes or small car boots - make sure you check the dimensions of the buggy once it's folded prior to purchasing for those who are concerned about space.

Choose a 3 wheel infant stroller-wheeler with 2 (or 3!) seats. This is the best option for your future and will save you money. The iCandy Strawberry Sport is among the most popular. It can be used from the day of birth as a single buggie and then converted into twin buggies after your baby begins walking.

Tyres

These tyres absorb bumps and uneven surfaces to make your child's ride more comfortable. They're commonly found on pushchairs, such as the Phil & Ted's Sport which MFM reviewer Kath found to offer "an outstanding ride for my toddler". She also said that its grippy tyres made it easy to navigate cobbles and kerbs.

They can be difficult to maintain their inflation and must be replenished regularly. They are also more vulnerable to punctures than foam tyres, so you'll need to ensure that you have a repair kit, spare inner tube and pump in case you go you're out and about in your buggy.

PU tyres are found on more pushchairs than air-filled tyres but they're still as robust. You can recognise PU tires by their smooth appearance and soft texture. They also slide well on smooth and tightly woven surfaces.

You can usually identify the difference between air-filled and PU tyres by running your hand over them, if it feels hard, then it's a rubber tyre, and when it slides, it's a PU. You can also determine whether your buggy is equipped with PU tyres sliding them on a flat, clean surface. They should roll easily and fit comfortably into wheel hubs.

Foam tyres can handle the rough terrain that comes with high-performance buggies. The downside is that the foam can expand and cause your buggy to appear less stable as it loses its springy nature. You'll also find that these tyres may often be noisy as they create a lot of noise when you turn and navigate your way around the town.
