Albums

The discography of the American rock group Toto includes 13 studio albums, 4 live albums, and numerous compilations. In addition to releasing original music, Toto has also done collaborations with other artists and on soundtracks for films. The band has won multiple Grammy Awards for their work.

Before the formation of Toto the band, members performed sessions for other musicians. David Paich, the son of session drummer Marty Paich, and Jeff Porcaro (the brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro and drummer Jeff Porcaro) all played on Boz Scaggs’ 1975 album Silk Degrees. Toto was formed in 1976 as a result of the collaboration.

Turn Back, Toto's third studio album, was criticized by critics due to the absence of hit singles. In 1985 the singer Fergie Frederiksen resigned from the group, and the band held auditions to find a new frontman. Guitarist Steve Lukather was chosen, and the band recorded the album Fahrenheit in 1986.

In 1998, Toto celebrated its 20th anniversary by going through several old demos and tapes to release a special record called Toto XX. The album was a hit by fans, and the band embarked on a tour featuring former members Bobby Kimball, Steve Porcaro, and Joseph Williams.

Shem von Schröck took over Leland Sklar as drummer during the tour for the 40 Trips Around the Sun album. In the year 2017, Toto released the double-CD set Falling in Between. It included recordings from the tour as well as an interview with the group.
