French-door fridges combine functionality and form. They have stylish double doors that reveal an enormous fridge on top, and a freezer drawer beneath. Special features like door-to-door dispensers, ice machines with higher-end features and flex drawers that can be customized make them stand out from the rest.

We consulted Ladina Schopf - interior designer, architect, and founder of LS Projects - for her advice on how to choose the right home. We looked at storage capacity, layout and energy efficiency, among other factors.

Like the name suggests, GE's Profile series targets those who want to incorporate cutting-edge technology into their kitchen. This fridge is loaded with them all, from a Keurig K cup coffee maker on the door to a sophisticated dispenser of water. But these flourishes don't mask mediocre performance, especially in the refrigerator's freezer and an ineffective temperature-controlled drawer. Since this refrigerator costs an extra amount, I'd like to see higher quality.

Apart from that minor flaw the fridge is a fantastic choice. It has a large freezer compartment, which is unusual for counter-depth french door fridge bottom freezer door fridges. It also holds plenty of frozen food items compared to other models.

Inside the fridge, you'll find 17 shelves and compartments. The fridge compartment offers 18.5 cubic feet of space, which is about par for the size of a French door Fridge kitchenaid door refrigerator that costs this much. It also has a decent-sized icemaker in the left-hand door, although it's not the biggest I've seen.

You can adjust the shelves in both compartments to create a the perfect storage solution. The interior design of the GE PYE22PYNFS also looks attractive. Its LED lighting is a nice addition and the inside storage bins feature the third shelf, which can fold down to allow you to store large items. The drawers come with temperature controls that allow you to set them to Meat, Beverage, or Deli settings. The drawers are simple to open and shut, but I found the plastic's textured coatings to be a bit rough on my fingers.

The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator has all the features you'd expect from a refrigerator in this price range. It has Wi-Fi as well as app support and GE's SmartHQ Software. The app, which is available for iOS and Android devices allows you to control your refrigerator from anywhere in the world, and offers a ton of customization options. It also sends you notifications when a door is left open, when the refrigerator or freezer is in need of defrosting, and when it's time to change the filter.

It would be nice if GE PYE22PYNFS included Precise fill, an option available in a handful of other GE fridges that allows you to set the number of cups of water you'd like to dispense at once. It also has a countdown on the fridge's display to display how much water you have left, but it's not as useful as Precise fill.

Bosch Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

It is designed to look as a seamless element of your kitchen, Bosch's french style fridge freezers-door refrigerator is one of a kind. The fridge uses fingerprint-resistant stainless steel, which is a great feature for busy households. It also has a veggie compartment that keeps vegetables and fruits fresher for longer and two compressors to preserve food items. The ice maker is one of the best we've ever tested and produces pyramid-shaped ice with a low water usage. This refrigerator is the ideal option for a single family or kitchenettes who want a sleek design and top of the line food preservation.

This fridge was the top-rated refrigerator in our Refrigerators Test for various reasons. Its freezer temperatures held firm at just above 0 degrees Fahrenheit, and never moving more than a fraction of a degree--this is key in preventing freezer burn. The refrigerator section of the refrigerator also performed well. It reached the initial temperature within an hour, and remained at the temperature throughout our testing.

Bosch is a household name known for its high-end appliances. Therefore, it's not a surprise that Bosch counter depth refrigerator is one of them. Bosch counter depth fridge can be connected to your home Wi Fi and Bosch's platform Home Connect. This app lets you monitor and control your fridge from your smartphone or tablet. The refrigerator is costly however, it offers excellent features and functionality at a reasonable price.

While the fridge is a fantastic appliance, it's important to know the limitations. It has a limited shelf space, which means you'll have to think creatively when storing tall objects. Also the shelves aren't completely sprillproof, and can easily be stained or damaged by sharp objects. The trays can be easily removed from the refrigerator. However, they should be cleaned regularly to prevent the growth of mold.

LG Counter Depth french style fridge freezer uk Door Refrigerator

The LG LRFLC2706S counter-depth fridge is a great choice for those who require a lot of space in an extremely compact frame. It has a sleek, fingerprint-resistant stainless-steel finish and features thick handles that make them comfortable to grip. The fridge features a standard French door layout, with two rows of shelves that can be used to capture spills and a set of crisper drawers. The top shelf on the right can be folded down to give tall items more room. You'll also find a full width drawer for deli and an inside water dispenser.

This refrigerator has a freezer with an ice maker, making it easy to transfer the frozen ice as needed. The freezer has thoughtful design elements, for instance, sliding drawers that help to organize the place of your items. It also has a large bin that holds plenty of frozen food and a separate storage bin for ice.

Another cool feature of this refrigerator is its Smart InstaView panel. It lets you control the temperature of your fridge and lighting using your smartphone. It's an easy way to keep track of your refrigerator and control it, especially when not at home.

But while the Smart InstaView is a neat feature, it doesn't necessarily add to the overall performance of the refrigerator. In fact, it took longer to defrost and chill food in this refrigerator than some of the others we tested. This is likely due to its greater capacity.

The other issue we have with the door of this refrigerator. The sunken handles allow shorter people to open them from the bottom. However taller people have a difficult time closing them without slamming them. It would have been better if they had handles mounted on the front.

The LG Counter-Depth MAX fridge is a great choice for those who want to combine the aesthetics of a French-door refrigerator with more efficient design. Its capacity is higher than average for a counter-depth model and it cools evenly and has a good layout. It's also a bit cheaper than the most expensive counter depth refrigerator that comes with an ice maker, making it a great option.

Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

This Frigidaire French door refrigerator is a good option when you're looking for a French door refrigerator that doesn't cost a lot of budget. It has a simple design that's not as striking in appearance as other models, but it has enough features that make it a great choice. Its most important feature is the temperature adjustable drawer which helps keep food items like veggies and meat fresher for longer. It also has a large ice maker and a water dispenser.

Another great feature is the "Chill Drawer" that sits above the two crisper bins. This drawer allows you to redirect a portion of the refrigerator's cooling power into this area, so that you can keep food items that require special attention. You can alter the feature using a slider that's located right outside of the drawer. You can also alter the general cooling settings for the entire fridge. I've noticed that the general settings work better than the specific ones.

In my experiments, I noticed that the temperatures in the refrigerator were fairly consistent in various parts of the refrigerator. Temperatures at the top and bottom of the fridge didn't stray significantly from 38 degrees, and the middle of the fridge was within a degree of 36. This is a good performance, but it doesn't quite make it to the top of our rankings.

This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead. This fridge can be connected with a smart thermostat to gain more precise information on the internal temperature of your fridge.

The Frigidaire FGHB2866PF's outside is made of grey-bodied stainless steel with a "smudge-proof" finish. It does an excellent job of repelling fingerprints and streaks, even compared to shiny stainless steel finishes on other appliances I've tested.
