World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can boost the value of armors, weapons and rings. Upgrades also boost bonuses like Crit chance and damage from PvE.

If the template for upgrading a weapon is %, it will be able to gain 3% of its previous attack damage every time it is upgraded.

Item upgrading costs crests and the item's current level. The cost increases as the item level rises.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be put into armor, weapons, and trinkets in order to provide a stat bonus or extra effect when they're used. These can be obtained by making crafts, buying from vendors or trading with other players or looting. Certain upgrades also come with special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can only be applied to equipment that has a slot. The item must be at least upgraded to a blue level before a component can be used. Unlike other mods, upgrade components can only be used once; they cannot be applied repeatedly or replaced by new upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a type of upgrade component that is used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or ascended equipment, as well other items that are not ascended. Infusions and enrichments can be recovered by salvaging gear that is ascended or completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade may be prefixed or a suffix, modifying the name of the equipment with the upgrade (for examplefor example 'Canthan Armor Insignia is changed to Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase an Best item upgrade's Mark Level, or Rarity, allowing players to create stronger versions of that equipment that require less Upgrade Crystals than are required to achieve the same upgrade level through normal methods.

A boost upgrade can modify the attack or defense attributes of a weapon or armor. After the player has completed the cutscene and defeated Crazed Mechanist the upgrades can be created at the Portative Forging Station. These upgrades are available for purchase them in the cash shop or by getting them from enemies while upgrading other equipment.

Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a better-quality version of the item will be available during the next reset. This gives players an incentive to upgrade their equipment even if they are unsure how much it can be improved upon an update.

If a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process could be costly and there is a substantial chance that the item could be obsolete or even break when it fails. A unsuccessful upgrade could cause the destruction of Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. This is alleviated by the availability cash shop items that double or even eliminate the chance of failure, and some upgrades that offer an additional benefit when they are inserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to improve the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets with special functions. Glyphs increase the power of nodes within a radius, including any existing affixes. Glyphs can be upgraded in numerous ways. We recommend upgrading them as fast as possible to level 15.

You'll often see in the endgame that putting Glyphs is the Best item upgrade way to upgrade your equipment. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded up to level 15 and give a significant boost to your power on the Paragon Board.

The majority of upgrades in the game can be replaced however, Glyphs are only the one upgrade component that can be removed and re-placed without restrictions. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and replaced with a Black Lion Salvage Kit.

Each Glyph has a certain range of values can enhance a stat by, and the value is shown when you choose the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with another Glyph of the same rank, or a higher rank, which will boost the overall value of the glyph.

There are Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of an Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain tools for gathering unlimited use and also through Faction Crypt raids. Each Faction Crypt will drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs that you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

Once you have gotten the desired Glyphs you'll require them to be put on your equipment. Each Glyph unlocks a bonus that will boost a specific set of stat nodes within a radius around the Glyph. Based on the Glyph, this will either be +40 to one of your primary stats, or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

Using the Glyph will boost all nodes that are connected to it, and you should try to place your Glyphs near the most important nodes of the Graph to maximise the impact. For example that a Druid should try to place their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes, but also consider placing them near critical damage nodes, too.

Leveling

The item upgrading system allows players to increase the performance of specific items by putting upgraded components inside them. This is commonly known as "upping". Each upgradeable item comes with a level, which determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be leveled up to a maximum level of 385 ilvl. Each level requires a different amount of components and the cost of upgrading increase as the item gets leveled up.

Some upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained by completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be found in the upgrade tab of a crafting table, or bought from NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed yields a certain number of Technology points. These points can be used for the upgrading of an item. When enough points have been earned you'll be eligible to claim the upgrade and receive its additional bonuses.

When a player upgrades an item it is replaced with a different item of the same kind. This means that the same armor piece will get the form of a shield or weapon when upgraded. The new item will have its own set bonus. This could be a problem in that it could cause the item to become more expensive, even if you don't need it.

If the player has enough tokens they can roll the upgrade of their item. This will cause the item to be traded for a new one, which will come with the level 1 base, and a totally different set of bonus bonuses. This is a good idea however it should not be used frequently as it can waste resources.

Certain upgrades can increase their value and allow players to personalize their equipment. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it gives buffs when the player repeatedly enters or exits water. It is possible to upgrade it several times, each time raising the maximum roll by 10 points. This item can be very valuable in PvP, as the Best item upgrade version of it can be worth between 20 and 50x its value if it is not upgraded.

Requirements

Item upgrading allows players to upgrade the quality of their equippable equipment - weapons, armor, and trinkets above ilvl 385--by presenting the appropriate items and currencies to an item upgrader NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces also boost the defense of the base set and weapon upgrades items increase their base damage and also increase their strength and dexterity.

All items can be upgraded up to five times, except for hero gear that can be upgraded up to eight times. Each each time you upgrade an item, it is given a chance to fail--the failure rate increases the farther you exceed the maximum amount of upgrades. Failures can result in the item reverting to its initial state, which will force the user to spend more materials than they would have to had they stopped upgrading at the maximum amount of upgrades.

If an item isn't upgraded the experience bar on its growth bar will be reset to zero. The item also loses any bonuses it gained like crit chance attack damage, other effects (such as increased heal over time, or the speed of reloading). The player will be able to use their weapon or armor after the failure.

When an item upgrader mod is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from the lowest to highest. This means that if a weapon gains a crit chance increase that it will be applied before any attack damage increases. A new attribute called Slots has been added to the definition of the item and the value is recomputed each time an upgrade is applied.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is determined on the rarity rating as well as the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium items is the same as the base value of the upgrade--for instance, a typical equipment item could have five upgrades with a cost of 25,600 Technology Points and 4x Quality Improvement Chance--whereas hero quality items will have a much lower cost for each upgrade.

Premium items have different requirements for upgrading as compared to standard equipment, for instance, they may require fewer sowels, but more minerals and erons. Regardless, the player will need to visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they wish to upgrade. Each upgrade to equipment requires different amounts of the ingredients for upgrading, in addition to the cost mentioned above.
