Greenpower designs, manufactures and distributes an entire range of heavy- and medium-duty electric scooter green vehicles. This includes transit buses, Electric Wheel Scooter school buses, cargo buses, and shuttles.

EV Star is a zero-emission vehicle that offers a lot of customization. It's also FTA certified and Buy America compliant. It offers a range that is world-class and ADA wheelchair accessibility. It also has cargo delivery setups.

EV Star

GreenPower Motor Company manufactures a complete range of heavy- and medium-duty electric wheel scooter vehicles, which include high-floor and lower-floor models. Their flagship vehicle is the EV Star Cab & Chassis platform, which is able to accommodate various body designs and upgrades for a variety of applications. The platform's design is based on a clean sheet of paper, which allows for optimal placement of the battery and a lower center-of-gravity. This results in higher range/payload ratios.

The EV Star REEFERX is designed to serve mid-to-last mile refrigerated delivery and catering. The refrigerated truck's class 4 design's one wall structure inside and higher insulation compared to traditional trucks allow for seamless sanitation, improved temperature control and a more extended life. The EV Star REEFERX provides superior capacity for cargo, and an industry-leading payload to allow for zero emission goods or passenger transportation.

GreenPower has partnered with Perrone Robotics to up-fit the EV Star with their TONY (To Navigate You) autonomous vehicle system. This will allow fleets to quickly move to autonomous vehicles. The AV Star can also be wirelessly charging up to 75 kW.

We were allowed to test drive the EV9 on an unpaved highway for several hours and found it to be simple to drive, and comfortable to drive over long distances. The EV9 can block the sound of traffic and wind driving along the highway. It is smooth on bumps and ruts. The acceleration is quite quick and the vehicle has adjustable regenerative braking to enable "one pedal driving" by lifting off of the accelerator.

The EV9 has excellent range and can be fully charged in just three hours at home, or using any commercial charger. Drivers have the option of choosing between two modes of operation: eco mode and sports mode. The eco mode prioritizes the cruise control and torque and the sport mode maximizes speed and handling. Both are a lot of fun to drive and offer a unique driving experience for those who have never been in an electric vehicle before.

In addition to the EV9, GreenPower has several other electric vehicles, including a multi-purpose electric mini bus called the EV Star. The EV Star is ADA-compliant and can be used as executive shuttles, microtransit and transit buses, vanpools, or paratransit vehicles.

GreenPower produces approximately 10 EV Star busses a month for Jacksonville Transit Authority. The Jacksonville Transit Authority is replacing their older diesel vehicles fleet with 100 all-electric cars. With the Biden Administration aiming to electrify schools across the nation, GreenPower plans on ramping production to meet demand. Their EV Star buses are the first of their kind to be Altoona tested and FMVSS certified, Buy America compliant, and ADA compliant. This makes them eligible for federal transit grants.
