The S1 Pro's navigation and mapping capabilities are excellent, with the internal dToF LiDAR device allowing it to maintain the appearance of a slim profile while delivering top-notch object avoidance. It can drive close to walls without hitting them and avoiding steps, and it also raises its mop automatically when driving over rugs and short-pile carpets. It struggled a bit when it encountered longer-pile carpets, and some long, thick piles of dried-on debris.

Like most robots like it, the S1 Pro comes ready to take off from the box and needs only the initial mapping run to figure out how it can navigate your home. The map will then be displayed in the app and you can add or join rooms as necessary. You can also set virtual boundaries as well as no-go zones if there's something you don't want the robot to touch.

The S1 Pro is a great option for homes with different types of flooring because it can mop and vacuum. However the fact that it relies on an Eufy-branded cleaning product (which is included in the box) makes it less flexible than other robots that allow you to add your own solutions.
