Double-clicking these controls lets you skip tracks or replay the previous one. They also come with a voice command that allows you to ask to change the mode or set an alarm. You can also cover the right ear cup by using your hands to activate ambient modes, to allow you to hear the world around you without having to remove the headphones.

These headphones have a fantastic battery life. In our tests with ANC turned on, the Q30 lasted nearly an hour longer than the other headphones. This leaves plenty of time to prepare for a long flight or an office day. They can be easily recharged by using the USB-C cable that comes with them and you'll be able to see a warning when they're approaching empty.

Focal Bathys Wireless

Focal's Bathys Wireless are a set of powerful over-ear headphones that offer both active noise cancellation and Bluetooth playback. They're designed as an elite, high-end headphone that are ideal for listening to podcasts and music on the go, but are a great choice for home use by audiophiles too. They're a little more expensive than other similar headphones but their superior sound quality is the main selling feature.

The Apple AirPods Max are a pair of wireless headphones over-ear that come with Bluetooth technology and noise cancelling. Apple created dynamic drivers that measure 40mm with a neutral audio profile that emphasizes highs and mids without going too loud. This makes them perfect for movies and music. They also provide higher fidelity than most rival headphones.

The headphones have a light design that is comfortable on the head. The ear cups are made of memory foam and covered with a woven fabric. They sit comfortably on the ears without placing pressure on the sides of the face. The earcups can also tilt and rotate to accommodate different head shapes. Another great feature is spatial audio, which makes use of the accelerometers and gyroscopes of the AirPods Max and your iPhone or iPad to determine the direction you're going, and then repositions sound to create the illusion that they're coming from those places. This creates an immersive theater experience for videos and movies made in 5.1, Bluetooth wireless Headphone 7.1 or Dolby Atmos. Only iOS devices can be used to listen to audio in spatial format.

The AirPods Max is a decent pair, but I would feel a bit ripped off if I spent $549 in an Apple Store knowing that the second-generation model would be better in the next year. The AirPods Pro have more advanced features and a better battery performance, making it hard to justify the extra expense for most people.
