Narwal Robot Vacuum and Mop

A relative newcomer to the robot vacuum space, Narwal offers a sweeping and mopping system that's impressive. However, it's expensive and is hampered by a clunky application with a steep learning curve.

Features

The Narwal T10 robot vacuum can clean, scrub and sweep hard floors. Its intelligent navigation and mapping system is based upon simultaneous localization (SLAM) technologies. It also has anti-collision, anti-cliff-sensing and cliff-sen technologies that can to prevent the machine from falling down a staircase or hitting furniture. It can also recognize and avoid carpets. This is a typical problem for many robot vacuum/mop/hybrids.

The robot is equipped with two large water tanks: one for clean water and one for dirty. When it's time to mop, it automatically goes to its base station and soaks its pads with the clean water from the tank. During the mopping process, sensors alert you to when it's time to change the pads and replenish the water. It uses 16 ounces, which is less water than the majority of robots.

The T10 will automatically dry the pads once you've cleaned them. This will prevent cross-contamination. Then, it resumes the mopping task from where it left off. This process removes the need to wash your hands manually which is a great thing since it shields you from bacterial and allergens. This feature is exclusive to Narwal. This robot can effortlessly switch from mopping to vacuuming. It's a great option for people who have both in their home. Its sweeping skills are excellent and it does an excellent job of picking up dust, pet hair, and other debris. Dual side brushes on the Freo let it reach corners better than single brush vacuums. Its cliff-sensing, anticollision and anti-stuck functions also aid in avoiding getting stuck or crashing into furniture.

While it's a decent vacuum/mop set-up, the Narwal T10 is pricier than most of its competition. The Narwal T10's large base station has two 1.3 gallon tanks that need to be filled often. This can be very frustrating, especially if your robot has tanks that fill faster. The app is messy and frustrating and doesn't have the features for customization you'd expect from a robot that costs more.

App

The Narwal robot vacuum and mop is a unique machine amongst the many all-in-one robot vacuums and mops that are available. While most others tout great mopping and vacuuming capabilities, with a mopping feature the T10 was created to be a self-cleaning machine from the bottom up. Its mopping and sweeping capabilities are highly efficient and are easy to control via the narwal app but it also has buttons on its base station that allow for manual optimization mid-cleaning session.

The Narwal robot vacuum is powered by Lidar and SLAM technologies that make it one of the most intelligent cleaning machines. It uses its sensors to identify your home's layout and then transforms that data into a detailed cleaning plan for your floors. This is a great feature, and it can help the T10 avoid getting lost and keep track of its tasks while working within your home.

Another unique feature of the Narwal is that it can define "no-go zones." If you want the T10 to avoid certain areas, you can set them up as no-go zones on the app and it will not be able to avoid them during cleaning sessions. This is useful if want to avoid the T10 mopping or vacuuming on areas rugs.

Its self-cleaning capabilities are also impressive, as the T10 will periodically return to its docking station to flush out and resoak its mopping pads. The cleaning system for pads saves you from having to soak your mop in dirty water and keeps it free of germs between mopping sessions.

The narwal mops also are designed with a unique triangular shape that covers a larger surface and provides a more effective clean in corners and tight spaces. The dual side brushes also help to trap dirt and hair and take it off the floor before it could clog your vacuum or drain the battery.

In contrast to other robotic vacuums, the Narwal doesn't have a powerful beater bar that can dislodge dirt and debris stuck in carpets.
