Narwal Robot Vacuum and Mop

A relative newcomer to the robotic vacuum market, Narwal offers a sweeping and mopping hybrid that's pretty impressive. It's costly and is hindered by a cumbersome, slow learning curve application.

To mop, drop a sheet of detergent into the base station's clean water tank. Then, the pads are sprayed with clean water, scouring floors using 10N of pressure.

Features

The Narwal T10 is a combination robot mop and vacuum that can sweep clean, scrub, and scrub hard floors. Its smart mapping and navigation system is built on simultaneous localization and Vacuums Robot mapping (SLAM) technology. It also comes with anti-collision, cliff-sensing, and anti-collision technologies that can keep the machine from falling down a staircase or accidentally hitting furniture. Additionally, it is able to detect and avoid rugs, which is a frequent issue for many hybrid robot vacuums and mops.

The robot has two huge water tanks, one for clean and another for dirty. When it's time to mop, it automatically goes to its base station and pre-soaks its pads with the clean water from the tank. During the mopping cycle sensors will notify you when it's time for you to change pads and refill the water. It uses 16 ounces, which is less water than the majority of robots.

Once you've cleaned the dirt off the mop pads the T10 returns to its base station and auto-dry the pads to prevent cross-contamination. Then, it resumes the mopping task where it stopped. The rotating pad is paired with two side brushes that sweep dirt, hair, and other debris into the slot. This eliminates the need for a dustbin and is a lot more eco friendly than traditional vacuuming.

The app lets you create an outline of your home that allows you to mark areas for both sweeping and mopping. The app allows you to select the intensity of cleaning levels, such as a thorough clean that removes any lingering debris and dirt for a more thorough job. You can also create "no-go zones" to instruct the robot not to walk over area rugs and other obstacles.

Design

Performance

It then shares this map using the narwal app so you can modify cleaning settings and create no-go zones to prevent it from mopping or vacuuming certain areas.

Once the Freo is mapped and is able to continue cleaning the area it left. The mops of the Freo are self-cleaning and they return to their docks after each use to rinse and drying. This reduces time and shields hands from allergens and dirt. The Freo also helps conserve water by using just 16 oz per mopping cycle. This is the equivalent amount of water used in the coffee cup of a large size.

The robot is able to easily change from mopping to vacuuming. It's an excellent choice for people who have both types of equipment in their home. Its sweeping abilities are superb, and it does a fantastic job of picking up dust, pet hair, and other debris. The Freo's dual side brushes enable it to get into corners better than single-brush Vacuums robot, and its cliff-sensing and anti-collision functions assist in preventing it from getting stuck on the stairs or crashing into furniture.

The Narwal T10 is more expensive than the majority of its rivals, despite being a good vacuum/mop combo. The Narwal T10's huge base station houses two 1.3 gallon tanks that need to be refilled frequently. This can be annoying, especially if you're used to the tanks that fill faster of other robots. The app is messy and uninspiring, and lacks the features of customization you'd expect from a robot that costs more.
