You can set up schedules to set the temperature, and even set reminders.

The touchscreen allows you to manage your food and recipes. You can add ingredients from an app and see what's inside your fridge using internal cameras. You can also make shopping lists while on the go, and monitor foods to know when they'll expire. You can also use a recipe app to read the recipe while cooking.

This is the second generation of Family Hub fridges and Samsung says it's spent a year adjusting them to the needs of customer feedback. You can now create different profiles for each family member to allow them to customize the information and apps that they have access to. It's still not quite as good as having Alexa integration built into your refrigerator however it's a step up on last year's model.

Apart from its ability to manage grocery and entertainment, Family Hub also acts as an interface for Samsung's SmartThings platform. It can be integrated into Matter-compatible devices, like lights or plugs, and you can use the touchscreen to control them.

Samsung's fridge is a few years old, and while it still has plenty of features, its touchscreen smarts aren't a feature most people would consider essential. They're more of a fun and somewhat frivolous feature than anything else.

This may be changed with the release of more software updates, but for now, these models are best for those who want to have the most extensive connected refrigerator that is possible. You can save money by buying an appliance without the Family Hub if you're not one of those people. This could be worth it if you have a lot of smart home appliances that require control via the same screen or if you like the idea of refrigerators with a huge touchscreen.
