Saab Key Programming

Saab cars built since about 1994 have an immobilizer feature that is based on codes for keys. A new transponder is required for addition of an extra key, and special programming. This is usually done at the dealer with a specialized Tech2 diagnostic tool.

Transponder key

The transponder is a key with an electronic chip. The chip sends a signal when the key is put in the ignition. The car is able to check whether the signal matches the one on the key. Jumpstarting the battery
